The latest BitDefender 2010 was released about a week ago supporting Windows 7 and to me, BitDefender always has a very good detection in both known and unknown virus. Believe it or not, it was one of the first antivirus software that managed to detect the private version of trojan that I have using its proactive protection. On another experience, when Brontok virus was very new, BitDefender was the only antivirus that was able to remove it from the infected computer.

The new and improved in BitDefender Internet Security 2010 features more protection. Many of today’s stealth viruses are designed to avoid antivirus detection by initially laying dormant only to attack your PC when it is most vulnerable. BitDefender 2010 features a cutting-edge security system, Active Virus Control, which constantly monitors all of the processes on your PC, 24/7, blocking any malicious behavior before it can cause any damage. Instead of major update gets bloated, BitDefender 2010 uses less resources and scans your PC in half the time needed by previous versions. If you have kids, the improved parental control feature would be very useful for you to monitor what websites your children visit. You can also can set specific time intervals in which their children are allowed to access the Internet or use certain applications. Probably one of the most important improvement is the updated intrusion detection. When there is any code injection, or change in any critical system files/registry entries, BitDefender will warn you about it.

It’s been a while since I last gave out any free licenses, so today I am giving out 100 genuine license keys for BitDefender Internet Security 2010 worth $3,995 to my subscribers for FREE. To be eligible for this lucky draw, you must meet 2 conditions.

1st Condition: Must be Raymond.CC daily newsletter subscriber. If you are not a subscriber, here is how you can subscribe.

- Enter your email at the top right hand side and hit the subscribe button. You will have to check your email and confirm the subscription.

2nd Condition: Leave a comment on this article so that I know you want to be in the draw. The 100 lucky winners will be randomly picked and announced on Sunday 3PM GMT+8.

These license are genuine which normally cost $39.95 and valid for 1 year on 1PC. Honestly, I got them about 4 months ago and it must be activated in 3 months time. Since I didn’t use them, the license were automatically activated last month and now it is still valid for 11 months. I might as well give them away so that they may be put to good use rather than wasting it. This is how the latest BitDefender Internet Security 2010 looks like. If you click on Settings button, you can switch the user interface to Novice, Intermediate and Expert.

The only thing I don’t like about the latest BitDefender is the update process. After downloading 64.8MB of the installer, it still needs to download another 52MB when you first update. I was downloading until around 40+MB and it asked me to restart. After restarting, again I need to download another 50MB of updates. I don’t mind if the download speed is fast but what I got was only 15KBps when my Internet can go as fast as 150KBps. I tried using other update locations from upgrade1.bitdefender.com to upgrade5.bitdefender.com but it didn’t work. So I am pretty much stuck with the default slow update location. As for memory usage, after Windows has booted up, it takes less than 10MB.

Update: Here are the lucky winners. Although you can see 150 winners in the list, the first 100 gets the license. The remaining 50 are for backup purposes IF there are any from the first 100 that did not respond to my email. I’ve sent out email to the winners, all you need to do is reply and I’ll send you the license at my next email. Do check your JUNK/SPAM folder.

Hi , this is a great offer but downloading installer 65MB installer and further 52MB of updates on a dialup connection is perhaps not an option for me.

I regrettably pass this one because downloading would be a problem. I would stick with Avira Premium Security promotion license which will protect me till Oct, because its updates are incremental and daily rate is very small even at dialup. If you need cumulative they available as a zip file and that too is not more than 20-25MB which are still manageable.

Nevertheless great work by you; the ‘Raymond’. I am a fan of your work and look toward your blog for resolving many problems.

Actually I have tried bitDefender and trully speaking this version is good fast..but yu must notice one thing that your Serial No is visible by any one after looking at Registration Tab of the Bit Defender Windows….and another issue is….. it is not well detected by the windows Security service !! so often my pc says AntiVirus reports out of date…so i leave it and now using my most favourite NIS 09.the real best antivirus

When I got this free Bitdefender email, it has 1512 comments already, seem to get the free keys is impossible.
I use Bitdefender total security 2010 with the 2009 free 180 days key plus the 30 days trial, total = 210 days, when expired, restore the computer and I get another 210 days free.
To have 11 months of free licence would be much nicer.
