About 2 months ago I’ve written a perfect way to unlimited rapidshare downloading. It can be a very perfect way if you have Cryptload configured correctly and also a router that works with it. I have a Belkin router and there is a strange 5 minutes and 5 seconds wait time which even the programmer of Cryptload doesn’t know what is causing it. Some people even have router that doesn’t even work at all with Crytload!
If you’ve use Cryptload before, you’ll know how RapidShare works. If not, I’ll explain really quick. For normal free users, you’ll need to visit rapidshare link, click the FREE button, wait for download ticket, enter CAPTCHA code and start downloading. When want to download second file from Rapidshare, you’ll need to wait for a while depending on how big is the file that you’ve previously downloaded before you can download the second file. Most people don’t want to wait so they just disconnect and reconnect. This will give you a new IP address and you can download without waiting.
Few days ago I found a new program which is quite similar to how Cryptload works but this time it is going to be flawless. Doesn’t matter what router you have, whether you are using ADSL modem to connect, it will work for you. The only catch is you must be sure that whenever you disconnect and reconnect your Internet, you’ll get a new IP address. So here’s another perfect way to unlimited rapidshare downloading…
The program is called (E)lephant written by Shlomi Kalfa (SK). You’ll find the the name of the author familiar because it’s the same person that created Universal Share Downloader or USDownloader. (E)lephant is a weird name to be used for a download manager which is able to bypass rapidshare’s download limitation. Well, I don’t think the name actually matter so much as long as it works!
This is how (E)lephant looks like. Nothing special, just like a download manager.
Before we can start using (E)lephant to automate unlimited downloading from RapidShare, you’ll need to configure it. Most important configuration is the reconnector. That’s where it will auto reconnect your internet connection to get a new IP address.
1. Once downloaded (E)lephant, extract and run (E)lephant.exe
2. Click on Options at the menu bar and select Settings.
3. Go to the Reconnector tab. I am not going to teach you on how to use the built-in reconnector because it might not work for everyone. I am sure that the external connector method will work for everyone with all types of connections.
4a. For people that is using MODEM to connect to ADSL.
Open notepad and type in the code shown below and save it as rasdial.bat
%systemroot%\system32\rasdial “streamyx” /disconnect
%systemroot%\system32\ping -n 20 127.0.0.1 >nul
%systemroot%\system32\rasdial “streamyx” “user” “pass”
There is 3 lines. First line will disconnect your current connection. You need to change the “streamyx” to your connection name. To know what is the connection name, see the title of the dial up.
The second line will ping localhost 20 times which is good to let your modem rest for 20 seconds before reconnecting again.
The third line will auto dial up to your ISP. Again, change the “streamyx” to your connection name, then “user” to your username and “pass” to your password.
Once you have the rasdial.bat file ready, try running the batch file and see if it will automatically disconnect your internet, wait for 20 seconds and then reconnect. If it works, continue to step 5. If not, check your connection name, username and password.
4b. For people that is using ROUTER to connect to ADSL.
You have to use Macro to record your actions in logging in to your router, disconnect and reconnect. I recommend using free macro Do It Again. Download and install Do It Again. Run Do It Again, go to Options and select Associate with .dia files. Now click the Create a New Task button. You will need to manually login to your router using a web browser to manually disconnect and reconnect your connection. Press SCROLL LOCK when you’re done and save the task with a name such as “changeip”. To test whether it works or not, go to the programs folder which is at C:\Program Files\Do It Again\ and run changeip.dia file. It should automatically open up your web browser, log in to your router, disconnect and reconnect your connection.
5. Check Use the external reconnector.
6. If you’re using modem, click the …. button to look for your rasdial.bat file and click Set button. For router users, browse to C:\Program Files\Do It Again\DoItAgain.exe and at the next box, enter changeip.dia (the name that you saved earlier) and click Set.
7. Now go to any sites that has RapidShare links. Use your mouse to highlight the links, right click and select Copy.
8. A small (E)lephant window will popup asking you to add the links. Just click Add button.
9. All links will be added to (E)lephant. The last thing you need to do here is to click the Start button to start downloading. You will notice that it can auto decrypt and enter rapidshare CAPTCHA codes and will reconnect your internet whenever it detects that you’ve have reached the download-limit for free-users.
In my opinion, software like Cryptload, USDownloader and (E)lephant is totally legal because it does not hack or exploit Rapidshare servers. It is only a download manager which has the capability of auto recognizing CAPTCHA code and also ability to run third party tools based on error message detected in Rapidshare. There is nothing they can do other than periodically changing their CAPTCHA images.
NOTE: (E)lephant is VERY new and I believe it has yet to surface on any blogs other than here in Raymond.CC. To B2BW, i think im facing a quite identical problem just like yours, except for mine in status bar i got error saying that “download script failed at second page”, and after that “retries downloading in 00:00:XX”, and the download doesn’t even start. As much as i am sorry to declare, the (E)Lephant’s Server is down due to financial issues… as I [the creator] have no source of funding to this project i can’t efford myself the monthly payments of the server that holds it’s activitis, i am not a company but merely a second year medical student….

the elephant can not enter the captchas for rapidshare files but it can work good with megaupload files!
it is a litle bit slower (the downloading) but it works…
use megaupload files until someone find a solution with rapidshare captchas

simply put …i can’t manually disconnect my modem because there is no such function that exist. Even if i do manage to disable it…after re-enabling it, i won’t get a change in IP. Only by switching off my main switch that is connected to the modem do i only get a new IP…so my question is….how do i get a new IP without having the hassle of switching on and off my power to the modem…sorry for the bad english. :) Thanks for helping all….oh and BTW…Rapidshare has a new captha requiring users to spot kitties…now how do we solve this problem ?

Ermm…. there’s no connection of any of that sort there. Maybe i accidentally disable it when i use “msconfig”…any idea how do i re enable it ?

Under Vista SP1 , it works like a charm by batch. eg. I have 2 RS links, it does perform captcha nicely for each file in batch. But under Win2k with SP4, only the first one in the batch works, the next and all the following links always failed on captcha, with a message saying it
could not find the convert.exe in the add-ons folder.
For some unexplained reason, it got deleted each time it processses the first download.

I need to disconnect/reconnect until I get IP starting with 60.51.XX.XXX. Because, for free account, downloading from RS with IP 128.XX.XX.XXX is extreamly slow. The optimum speed for my area is 60.51.XX.XXX.
I have a premium account which doesn’t bother whether the IP is 128 or 60 but with free account, it does.

If your IP is static then re-connecting won’t be any help.
However, you can use proxies to by-pass the wait time when downloading something from RapidShare.com.
Google the Proxy Lists.

Sadly, it won’t work for you. You have to change your IP manually or by requesting your internet cable provider.

Even the updated version is giving me the same error that I had in the old version i.e. Error: Download script failed to begin the file download.
Would somebody please be kind enough and eXplain this error? Is it something at my end or something in the (E)lephant is not working right?
Or may be I have not configured the program right. Can somebody please let me know the working configurations for them? I think the problem starts when the (E)lephant tries to decrypt the captcha.

Do you mean that you don\’t have ADSL modem / router and you are using Cable connection?
You also mentioned that you could manually Disconnect and re-connect to change IP very easily. What do you disconnect and re-connect?
i got this code (rasdial.bat) from a frd who said tht it changes IP for ADSL modems. BUT i have sprint broadband (laptop aircard from novatel wireless) will it work…i mean i need to automate IP changing every X mins. the program should run by itself (i shudnt have to run it every x mins)…pls can any1 modify this code to achieve the above fnl:

I came here when I was searching for the solution of my RapidShare problem. RS.com always gives me an invalid session message whenever I try to download something. So it seems I came to the right place.
But I’m still having some problems with (E)lephant.
1- Why the (E)lephant is uploaded to Rapidshare.com? Is there any non-rapidshare link to download it? I just couldn’t understand the logic of keeping it on rapidshare because if I could download (E)lephant from Rapidshare, then why would I need it to download stuff from Rapidshare? It seems like I have a car and I want to take something out of my car. The car is locked and I realise that the key to open the car is also inside the car.
But anyway, with the help from a friend, I did manage to get the latest version of (E)lephant and I would request the author of (E)lephant to provide non-rapidshare link of the software for people like me who can not download stuff from RS.com.
2- After running (E)lephant, everything seemed to be right (i.e. link was verified, ticket was reserved, the count-down of ticket stopped and it looked for the fastest server availabe) but when it was trying to get the Captcha, it suddenly gave an error and started re-trying to get the reserved ticket again. The error was “Error: Download script failed to begin the file download” (I took the screen shot of the error uploadingit.com/files/478566_b3ujd/elephant_error_dl.JPG ).
Now please tell me what am I missing.

Only one question; is there a program that can reconnect router in the backround? This \”Do it Again\” is visually repeating steps in the task so I can\’t work on my PC until the task is finished. Or you can put a reconnector for SpeedTouch 780WL router on the list? lol

Yes unfortunately rapidshare is now using a new CAPTCHA and Elephant will stall during reading OCR. Anyone have workaround for this?

After selecting your router, it will create a .bat file which can reconnect to the internet way faster than the method described in the article and also it doesn’t disturb you while doing other things with the computer!

Access to registry key ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/CLASSES/.DIA’ is denied. Make sure you have administrative privilages and try again

It’s just the Captchas that have been changed, not the code of the page.
If someone could make a new set of Captcha-Dummies for Elephant, it would work again… Maybe the PS-crack from India??? Would be nice!
Of course once RapidShare changes their code, programs won’t work. But if the programmer update their code, it’ll work again. So let’s wait for an update.

Have used e for about a week and it has decided not to work now. I hit the button to open it and get an error. The error is about macromedia flash. I have updated it since and it still bring up the same error. Does anyone know why?

Is it safe to write your username and pass into a txt file that is used by a program free to send it anywhere? I don’t think so. Why not use a simple programming command that invokes the connection through windows where the pass is encrypted? I’m a programmer and i’m sure that it is the best way to open and close a connection, not by writing username and pass into a txt file!!!

Also I can make the Web 2.0 images for the Browser in Elephant But i don’t know exactly the location where those images will have to be placed , so that upon next launch of (E)lephant it loads them on starting itself..
there is no separate image folder like GUIS was there for Download Tab section..

Sometimes while downloading a file from rapidshare..
an error does comes saying: Rapidshare server timed out.
this results in halting of the download and then it retries to again download the same file..that feature is Ok in elephant ..
But what’s this error “Rapidshare server timed out”.

it be the program’s error, make sure your ISP isn’t pissed about u’r reconnection and made something to prevent it

Works like a Charm..Finally there is something that will let me “SLEEP ALL NIGHT”.
Another enhancement u can add, can be a scheduler like we have in Bitorrent clients so that one can download only in certain time periods in nights ..this will be a small favour for those who have “night unlimited download limits” ..but can’t download during daytime as the ISP charges per MB in daytime..Hope u will do something on it..
Another feature u can add is that a Resume Button if u can…since if one wants to pause it the status changes to pause and then on Starting it the Pop up comes telling
Do u wanna stop the Current file download and start a new one..i think this should be made better..i.e making it just Resume changing its status back to Pending..and not this Pop Up..since this Pop Up does n’t fits in the situation..and It must only appear if one wants to Start some other file Not just switching fom Pause to Resume..

Just how is there to reconnect my router ? I still having problem with the part making a macro for it. To be clear, i don’t even know how to manually discon and recon my router with web setup. Its seems there is no such option in it.

You have to run (E) as Administrator. In short, right click the (E)lephant.exe and select ‘Run as Administrator’. Agree to the UAC prompt and it should work sweet.

sk … thanx for the geat software … im using e-lephant since ver 0.0.0.9B and its work flawlessly for a couple times … after that the reconnect application at addon dir seems doesnt apply the preferred ip that i config (PreferredIPToUse=222.x53.xxx.xxx|222.x54.xxx.xxx) … fyi it works for a couple times before (keep redial until it get the preferred ip i wanna use) … thanx :)
Works on and off 4me. Sometimes the mini-decrypter doesn’t capture the code and it’ll just count forever. Should I turn the filter off? What’s it 4 anyway? Most of the time when it doesn’t work it’ll just say download script failed and start over. BTW great idea and program! Thanks.

inatead of closing the AV u should let the program in the “Trusted Zone” then it should be OK!

in the latest version of the (E) i’ve included the S&MBot.exe macro recorder, u can use it to record a macro which will reconnect u’r router and then set it to work as an external reconnector in (E).

I can’t download from rapishare even if I have the counter, I get “Download session invalid” message eventually.
What I like about (E)lephant is it’s automated unlike USDownloader… It knows the error codes from Rapidshare and then runs the reconnection.

If elephant is similar to USDownloader, maybe you can do that.
In USDownloader, there is a scheduler option and you can set up a task that calls a batch file to reconnect every time some error occurs.

Unfortunately the 2.4 minutes of wait time can’t be bypassed. It’s hard coded into rapidshare system and only premium account can bypass that.
IP renewal and “captcha” recognition works. Is it possible to also bypass the 2.4 minutes waiting time before each 100 MB download, that is the last annoyance now

Compared to Cryptload ,Elephant is by far better and it doesn’t seem to have Cryptload’s problems.
I have one question though.
I have a usb modem.Let’s assume that for some reason the modem is disconnected by itself during downloading for an unknown reason.(ISP problem etc)Elephant cannot recognize this and it’s trying to download the current file with no success of course.
Is there any way that i can make my usb modem reconnect to the Internet through Elephant every time it disconnects and not only when a download finishes?

Danny, for your case, you can use Windows Remote Desktop Connection to connect to your mother’s PC and then disconnect the connection, and reconnect.

My PC is connected to my mothers PC and she is connected with the Internet (ADSL – MODEM). Does it work with me?
I just open my routers admin window. Manually click disconnect, then connect. Voila! I get a new IP addr.
I had to do this because Rapidshare would never allow me to download because I don’t reboot often and the IP stays the same. I tried communicating with RS and suggested they time out their control on the IP addr after say, 24 hours. But they are dicks.

Some routers doesn’t has the feature of manual disconnecting and reconnecting internet. The only way I can think of is to restart your router but I don’t think that’s good because imagine restarting 20-30 times a day…

Wong, yeah, rapidshare with their IP restrictions. Some people suggested to stop using RapidShare but it just can’t be done because it’s probably the most popular file sharing website.

Unfortunately for people with static IP, the only solution is to find a way to change the IP address because that’s how RapidShare remembers you. I’ve tried proxy and tor, it’s slow…
What about downloading from RapidShare for people who don’t have any possibility to change their IP (by reconnections)?
