Hi Raymond,

Chance upon your webbie when googling your site for missing safely remove software icon in the tray. You have a great site & thanks for all the tips & guides.

I have downloaded the Unlocker but it keeps popping up "Error Debug Privileges" when I right click & select Unlocker. Is there any way to work around it?

Then I saw on another article - "FileASSASSIN". I like the fact that it's portable (no need to install).
But it can only kill process of known files. In the event if I wanted to safely remove a USB drive and I don't know what process is tied to it, I don't think FileASSASSIN will prove useful here.

Is there any alternative to Unlocker yet is portable like FileASSASSIN?

Cheers to a great IT tip webby!
