It works but every time my mac reboots I have to restart the service. It shows that it is running but I can’t connect to the mac unless I stop and start the service.

Figured it out. The settings on VNC need to be set to AUTO. If you specify a lower setting for the connection, it will drop as soon as you connect.

The builtin vnc server only accepts connection with FULL colors and is picky about encodings. So try that. It behaves exactly like this if colors or encoding doesn’t match.

I have the same exact problem. And if I physically go to the Mac and change a setting, I come back to the PC and RealVNC posts a message indicating that I\’ve been disconnected…yet I never saw the remote window open?!?
Anyone have any ideas as to the cause of this problem?

Ho provato come dici ma se dal pc usando vnc viewer (ultima rel 4.4.2) mi dice che
\”il server is not-standard and may fail to work\” …. or use protocol 3.3 option.

Comunque vado avanti dando okay…inserisco la password per un attima appare \”penso\” lo schermo del mac e poi sparisce tutto….
