Ever got frustrated trying to update your Windows OS through Microsoft Update only to discover that for some mysterious reason it won’t work? Maybe a corrupt DLL, conflicting software, firewall, other problems? muBlinder could be of use to you!

muBlinder ( Microsoft Update Blinder ) is an application that bypasses Microsoft Update’s Genuine Windows Validation and allows you to view, choose and install all available updates in addition to downloading programs off of the Microsoft Download Center. Incase you have installed the Genuine Windows Notification update muBlinder allows you to get rid of those nagging popups.

muBlinder does not need to be installed and can be placed on a floppy disk or flash memory stick. Just unzip to a folder of your choice and run it. For removal, simply delete the muBlinder.exe file and the associated ETH0.dll.
In order for muBlinder to work, both the mublinder.exe and its associated ETH0.dll file should placed together in a folder of your choice.

With muBlinder, you are able to bypass Microsoft Update’s validation by replacing your original LegitCheckControl.dll with ETHO.dll automatically by a click of a button. The replaced LegitCheckControl.dll will be automatically backed up as well which you can restore anytime by clicking the Restore button.

The nagging popups from Windows Notification can also be removed by clicking the Suppress button at the Notification tab. Notification is NOT the same as Validation. Notification refers to the balloon popup and other notices you get telling you that your Windows might not be legitimate. If you do have those messages, then click on Suppress button to stop them. If you do not have them then it’s a good thing. Next time you go to Microsoft Update and you see a High Priority update with “Notification” in the title, do NOT install it, instead uncheck it and click “Don’t Show This Update Again“.
NOTE: Backup will NOT be created when you click on the Suppress button to remove the notification.

Restoring the original Validation (LegitCheckControl.dll) is at the Backup tab. Only requires 1 click on the button to Restore/Backup the validation LegitCheckControl.dll file.

You can check for program updates at the last tab. By default, it will auto check for muBlinder updates whenever you start the program. You can disable it by unchecking the checkbox at Update tab. You can also manually check for muBlinder updates by clicking the Check button.

If you get the error below, you need to download the Microsoft .NET 2 Framework from Microsoft in order to run muBlinder.exe
