How to Reset Windows 2003 / XP / 2000 / NT Account password

These 2 days I’ve talked about “How to Hack Into a Windows XP Computer Without Changing Password” and “How to Recover Windows Login password within minutes“. Today I will be covering another method on how to get in Windows without knowing any Windows account password which is resetting Windows account password. It does not reveal current password, nor bypass the login screen with any passwords. This method removes the current Windows account password so you can login without entering any password.
The tool that I will be using to reset Windows account password is Windows Key by LostPassword.
Windows Key is designed as a tool for administrators, not for “crackers”. The product has no bearing on Windows security rating, because it requires physical access to the machine. In any computer system, true security from break-ins is achievable only by isolating the machine from distrusted individuals.

The only downside of this tool is it is NOT a freeware. You need to purchase at the price of US$195.00 to reset windows local account password. If you want to reset domain administrator password for active directory domain controllers, you need to purchase the enterprise edition at the price of US$295.00 or US$495.00 for the whole kit that contains over 25 password recovery modules.
If you’ve followed all my 3 articles on hacking into windows without knowing the user account password, you will start to think on how to protect yourself. Just go to your CMOS/BIOS and configure your hard disk to boot first. Then set a password for your CMOS. This way, the hacker won’t be able to use any of his hacked BootCDs to reset your CMOS password or your Windows account password. However, do take note that the hacker can still reset your CMOS by jumping a jumper or taking out the battery on your motherboard.

Both the source code and ISO + Floppy image is available for free download. The author says it’s ok to sell on ebay or do whatever you want with it.
It works very well and I’ve used it may times for emergency on-site jobs. No, I’ve never charged for the software, only the time ($40 for travel time).

I am having a computer with Windows 2003 installed and i only have limited account, i dont know there Administrator password, i tried to hack using net user on command prompt i got a system error 5, it didnt work, i dont have a CD to boot from and i also dont have 2003 Windows software here, i have Windows 2007.

How to recover/break Windows Server 2003/Windows XP password in VirtualPC
======================
1. First, go to where your virtual machines are stored, in my case it is at:
C:\Documents and Settings\OSC049\My Documents\My Virtual Machines\fabrikam
2. Second, you have to remove all the “.vmc” and “.vud” files; in my case
under the fabrikam folder, except the virtual hard drive “.vhd” file(s).
3. Then, download Ophcrack from “http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/” and burn
onto a cd.
4. Start your VirtualPC console and open your virtual machine, from the console
in the title menu choose CD > Use Physical Drive D: (or whatever your cd rom
letter is…
a).NOTE:
It is very important that you do this quickly before the Windows OS
starts booting. After Ophcrack starts, just let it run; at the end
it will show your password.
Depending on the speed of your machine and the size of the virtual
hard drive, it may take between 15 to 40 minutes or so.
5. In some Computers when you run the Ophcrack, the graphical mode some how
freezes the console. So you have to choose the text mode instead.
6. Finally, be pacient and cross your fingers.
I have tried many times and always works for me !!!!

I got a NEC VERSA LXi with windows 2000 Professional built on NT technology and when it boots up it tell me the system can not log in and ask for users name and password. in the users name it already has Administrator typed in. is there a way to get pass this
1.you can go into safe mode (F8 at logo when booting up) and enter as administrator and then go to accounts and change windows password and that’s with XP. I haven’t forgotten password for a pc before but can enter any XP pc in safe if the owner hasn’t gone into safe mode and designated a password for “administrator” and usually only have a password for the user account but never have tried on Vista or Win7.
2.if that does not work,you can use software to reset the windows password,my favorite is windows password Recovery Tool 3.0
