Nearly a month ago I posted a tip on how to “Delete a specific URL at the Internet Explorer Address Bar History” by modifying some registry values. If you don’t like to modify your registry, scared that your computer might not boot the next time, then you’re in luck.

IE5 Address Bar Editor is a freeware program that could be very useful if you would like to alter the links that appear in the drop down menu on the address bar in IE.

It allows you to edit items in the Internet Explorer Address Bar. You can use drag and drop to move the positions of items, and add new entries to the address bar or delete URLs from the address bar. This freeware DOES work with the latest Internet Explorer 7 and on Windows XP eventhough the quite outdated website saying that it’s not absolutely sure to work on IE4 and this freeware is designed for Windows 95 & 98.

This free tool is very easy to use. Just run and it will load all your URLs. To remove any address from the list, just select and click on the Remove button. You can add new URLs to the list, replace with an updated URL and clear all the URLs with a single click. Just remember to click on the “Save” button after you made any changes otherwise it would not take effect.
