To confirm that it’s Angsuman’s Translator Plugin Pro plugin that’s causing the high load level, I turned it back on. Without delay, the resources shot up again until the Apache service crashed. Using recommended WP-Cache 2 caching engine doesn’t help.
It’s been a week since this problem occurred. The last time Angsuman replied my email was on 21 March 2007 and that email didn’t solve anything… If I didn’t pay money for this plugin, I might just disable, delete and use another translation plugin. Problem is I’ve already paid $30 for this plugin and I expect some kind of support given for 6 months which is stated in Angsuman’s website.
I read in Angsuman’s website that he’s updating the plugin to translate 32 languages! It also said to have a new intelligent caching engine, designed from ground-up, which will drastically reduce your server load and serve the pages super fast, without loading the translation engines. It intelligently reduces the number of requests and manages the load factor so you do not overburden the translation engines and also your server, thereby reducing your bandwidth and serving your users faster.
If you are thinking of buying this plugin, I’d advice you to hold on to it first until the next version is out to fix this problem.

Wow, I thank you for testing this and pointing this out.
The last days, I had trouble on my server, it was awfully slow… Since all of my blogs were using translating plugins, I guess I know now what was the problem!
By the way, I was using Angsuman translating plugin on one of my site, and Global Translator on the other ones. Well, it seems that both of these plugins are making my server to crash!
Please, if you receive any news from angsuman, let me know, since he’s sooooo slow responding to email!
Thanks!
Dave
If thats the case, what is the plugin you are using that translates into 32 languages? I have been looking for a good translation plugin for the longest time
Now that you are using the Translator Plugin Gold again, I was wondering if you could kindly update your post and let your viewers know about your perception now.
Thanks,
Angsuman
I just came to your website by a portuguese search on Google… And it’s translation to portuguese using this plugin really sucks!!! I don’t know if it’s a good thing to have a plugin that makes your blog sounds funny…
I just bought Translator Plugin Gold. I strongly NOT recommend anyone to use this plug-in for these reasons:
1) The simple plug-in is too expensive. Use free translator instead
2) This plug-in, like what Raymond mentioned, is resource hungry. It will kill your server if you are not running on expensive dedicated web host.
3) You will not get good support. This guy didn’t reply my e-mails! He only wants money.
So, be careful.
I usually don’t brag about my disappointment with a product or service in public, as I like to give the company a chance to fix issues and collaborate together before getting to this point.
The fact is that I have pending supports tickets FOR MORE THAN A MONTH, and nobody cares to reply to them, let alone fix the issues. The issues are show-stoppers that render the plug-in completely unusable for me.
In the translated pages, The internal links in my site don’t get translated by their translated counterparts (i.e. with country code appended), which makes the translated pages unusable.
Also, the plug-in supports much less translations than advertised. What is this, a scam?
This is hands down the worst $100 I’ve spent in any piece of software to date, as since I bought the plug-in I couldn’t make it work yet, and nobody seems to care.
