The ways of spywares infecting a computer is getting more and more complex and advance. So must Anti-Spyware programs in order to counter spyware infections. One of the best FREE Anti-Spyware called Spybot – Search & Destroy has announced that they’ve released an updated version 1.5. You’ll notice that there is not much changes in terms of the interface. That’s because the team didn’t want to put too much effort in it and and prefer to spend more time improving functionality and quality assurance. I believe that is more important than the graphical user interface. I’ve seen some fancy anti-spyware programs but it is not as smart as Spybot.

If you already have version 1.4 installed on your computer, you can just install the new version 1.5 over it and it should automatically overwrite the old files with the new ones. For me, I’d prefer to uninstall it, delete everything from the Spybot folder and do a clean installation. I don’t want any old and unused files lying in my computer.

Remember to update Spybot’s trojan and spyware definition before running a scan with it.
