Polyglot 3000 works in Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP. The last time Polyglot 3000 was updated was on 05.11.2005. Even though it’s nearly 2 years ago, but this software works like a charm. I’ve tested that Polyglot 3000 can even recognize the language by one word although sometimes it’s inaccurate. So the more word you use, the more accurate it will be.
Once you know what language it is, you can easily translate the whole page using an online translation service. So far I’ve been using only 2 language translation websites. It is not able to translate as many as 400 languages but it can cover main foreign languages. Also, I know that automatic language translation is not accurate, but at least it can give you an idea what is written in that page.
1. AltaVista – Babel Fish Translation

- AltaVista Babel Fish Translation service is powered by Systran. A popular translation software. Many websites that offers free translation service is also powered by Systran. Since they are all using the same technology, I won’t list other websites that uses Systran.
2. Google Language Tools

- Google’s research group has developed its own statistical translation system for several language pairs.
No more skipping websites that is not English anymore… If you know any other online language translation websites that is not using Systran software, please share with us by leaving a comment.

Came across an automatic translation of this page into Serbian – Google seems to have cached it, though not sure it’s working properly.
I have to say that the translation is AWFUL, I mean, almost incomprehensible. Machine translation has a long way to go…
