After clicking OK button, you get another error message that says “Installation interrupted. Installation ended prematurely because of an error.”

No matter how many times you restart your computer, you still can’t install Kaspersky products. Here is how you can fix Kaspersky installation problem.
You need to remove a key “avp6_post_uninstall” from your registry. This key is created when uninstalling an older version of Kaspersky and somehow it wasn’t removed after restarting the computer. Just follow the simple steps below on how to remove the avp6_post_uninstall key fro your registry.
1. Go to Start -> Run
2. Type regedit and click OK button.
3. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
4. Expand the Run folder by clicking the + sign.
5. Right click on the avp6_post_uninstall key (folder) and select Delete.

6. Install Kaspersky product as normal. You won’t get the error “You must restart your computer before proceeding with the installation.” and “Installation interrupted. Installation ended prematurely because of an error.” anymore.
If you don’t know what anti-virus program to use, try Kaspersky. In my opinion, Kaspersky is one of the best Anti-Virus ![]()

While we’re on the subject of Kaspersky, this is the greatest (unofficial) ad I’ve ever seen

PACKIN THE K!
Raymon, wich one you think is the best? Nod32 or Kaspersky?
wow, hip hop Kaspersky!
I’ve never tested Nod32, but I heard that it’s great. But if I need to choose, I’d go for Kaspersky because I know virus programmers, hackers using it.
It`s possible to install two Windows on the same partition? For e.g. WIndows XP 32 bit and Windows 64bit

I tried AVG excellent one and so light.
raymond, do you know how to unblock kaspersky key? can you email me? thanks alot!
Hi raymond,
On the subject of antivirus which 1 would u recommend, ie avg seems to be doing the rounds and best of all it’s free. Does kaspersky justify its price when compared to freebies like avg. I am talking about my personal use here..
Thanks!
Great post
Thank you Rymond
Well since Kaspersky is in discussion,
Ray dear please troubleshoot this for me man !!
Kaspersky and zonelalarm free[latest for xp] conflict a lot.
Have you installed these both successfully simultaneously ?
I think that AVG is an ok antivirus. I wouldn’t say that it’s good or it’s bad.
Mandar, it depends on which kaspersky and zonealarm product you’re using. If you’re using Kaspersky Internet Security, and ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite, you’ll definitely have problems.
This is because Kaspersky Internet Security is an application that has Anti-Virus + Firewall. Same with ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite, it also has Anti-Virus and Firewall.
My advice is use only one internet security product. If you prefer Kaspersky products, then use KIS. Vice versa.
I had a lotsa stuff to comment so wrote in the forum instead .visit this link raymond

I have AGP texture acceleration problem on Dell Inspiron E1505. When I run dxdiag, on display test, it says AGP texture acceleration is not available. I still can’t fix this problem. I guess AGP texture acceleration is required when playing 3D games. So anyone knows how to fix this problem? Help? My dxdiag is as follows:

Hey Raymond,
I think your solution works but whenever I delete the key and attempt another install I get the same error. When I go back to the registry, the key is there again even though I deleted it earlier. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jimmy

Could the ckvo.exe virus be preventing me from reinstalling my kaspersky antivirus?
Bonjour,
My Installation Configuration Wizard will not launch. I have installed the components and restarted when it told me to several times. I have also removed it completely, done the step as originally described, reinstalled and I keep getting the same error message saying that the kaspersky installation ended prematurely because application removal was not complete. Please help!
I had to remove AVG before Kaspersky 2009 would install. However, after the initial installation was completed, the application configuration wizard that was supposed to start automatically, didn’t. Tried everything but still can’t complete installation. Anyone have the same problem?
