So I started testing and researching which led me discovering that Hotspot Shield, a free VPN service that makes my internet connections looked like I am located in United States is able to play videos in Veoh and Hulu. After a while, a lot of websites especially blogs started to post this tip and ended up Veoh blocking the HotspotShield IP address.
Today I am proud to be the first again in the world to share with you that I found a Hotspot Shield alternative called AlwaysVPN which allows you to watch videos in Veoh, Hulu, ABC, CWTV, Pandora even if you’re not in United States.
If you’re not in United States and try to watch videos from Veoh, Hulu, ABC, CWTV and listen to music from Pandora, you’d get the following error messages.
ABC.com Full Episode Player
Only viewers within the United States can watch these full-length episodes.Pandora
Dear Pandora Visitor,
We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.Veoh
Veoh is no longer available in COUNTRY.
If you are not in COUNTRY or you think you have received this message in error, please report the issue below.Hulu
We’re sorry, currently our video library can only be streamed within the United States. For more information on Hulu’s international availability, click here.

Thank you for your interest in The CW. This service is currently available to viewers living in the United States.
AlwaysVPN is a free VPN (virtual private network) that runs on Windows XP, Vista, Max OS X and Linux. It creates an encrypted link between your computer and their servers and then forwards all of your internet traffic through this link.

For example this prevents local eavesdroppers from listening in on your web communication at a public WIFI hotspot. Furthermore unlike many other commercial VPN’s that may be blocked by firewalls our program can work on any Internet connection that allows you to browse web sites. AlwaysVPN is very similar to HotspotShield. Just install, connect and you will get a US IP address. There are 2 ways to connect to AlwaysVPN, TCP and UDP. UDP is faster because there is no form of flow control or error correction. As for TCP, it is slower than UDP but reliable because it offers error correction. Try both to see which would give you a better result in watching videos from Hulu and Veoh.
There are only 2 cons about using the free AlwaysVPN. The first one is not all service are supported because AlwaysVPN only allows web traffic on port 80, 443, 110, 143, 587 and 8080. The second is it shows advertising at the top of web pages that you view while you are using the AlwaysVPN network.

AlwaysVPN is still in very early beta and released yesterday but it works without problems on my side. Do try it and give feedback to AlwaysVPN if you found any problems so that they’ll improve it better.

Got a new program.
Early beta, still. Gives 9GB bandwith / month – user-account based as far as I can tell… (untested, but it would meen that dev.nullius@gmail counts as a new user account for devnullius@gmail…).
Currently, it has flash disabled – for privacy reasons. They are working this weekend on a possible fix. See ticket #120 on their site.
Unknown how long this fix will take, but they are aware this is a much requested “feature”…
Otherwise, it’s neuking briljant!
WHAT is it?
Based on Privoxy, it’s called: BitBlinder.
It’s primarily a private torrent downloader (private, in the way of: proxied). BUT it also includes a browsing-the-web feature with FULL proxy / protocol support (even upnp). It comes with a stand-alone (custom) version of Firefox. It has plug-ins support – so you can add what you truely think you need.
Bandwith is shared in p2p-style – hope it has enough features for Un. St. people to join the progam ; -)
Peace!
And till repost ; P
Has this one been banned yet by hulu? I think ill stick with paying for vpn for the time being. I mean, 5$/month and you get a dynamic ip. I’m using hidemynet.
I can’t imagine alwaysvpn will last to long as a free service, everyone sharing ip and trying to access hulu, etc. it will be constantly banned.
