Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 was released early December and I am sure everyone has been having problems viewing the emails in Hotmail Inbox. When I click Inbox or any other folders on the left pane, the bottom left will show a yellow “Loading…” message box and it remains like that. Clicking on any messages in my Inbox is inaccessible too. It is a known bug and I’ve tried searching for a workaround but couldn’t find any. The only way I could check my Hotmail is by using Internet Explorer.

After 3 months of waiting, thankfully the latest Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 fixed this problem and I can now log in to my Hotmail to view the emails using Firefox 3.1! You can try it too because Firefox developers consider this release to be “stable”.

Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 is based on the Gecko 1.9.1 rendering platform, which has been under development for the past 9 months. Firefox 3.1 is an incremental release on the previous version with significant changes to improve web compatibility, performance, and ease of use:
This beta is now available in 64 languages. Improved the new Private Browsing Mode. Improvements to web worker thread support. Improved performance and stability with the new TraceMonkey JavaScript engine. New native JSON support. Improvements to the Gecko layout engine, including speculative parsing for faster content rendering. Support for new web technologies such as the |video| and |audio| elements, the W3C Geolocation API, JavaScript query selectors, CSS 2.1 and 3 properties, SVG transforms and offline applications.
If you’re thinking of being adventurous in trying out the latest Firefox 3.1 Beta 3, please take note that there will be add-ons incompatibility problems and Firefox will prevent you from using it unless the plugin has proven compatible. You can check out this article on how to enable firefox incompatible add-ons.

I’m using FF 3.0.7 and previous version of FF also work fine for me in hotmail,I don’t see any reason why should upgrade to unstable beta version.
Try uninstall your FF and reboot,then reinstall again and reboot.
Then check again whether the problem persist?
tq
Raymond, can you tell me name of the theme used in screenshot?
Hi raymond, i also use Firefox.So far it work just fine.Some people saying that using google chrome is also good, but it crash like hell.Will try out this beta then..
rmvalues, I said that this problem exist in Firefox 3.1 BETA 2, and upgrading to the latest BETA fixes this problem. Had nothing to do with the stable official FF 3.0.7.
hey raymond..the enter button doesnt work in the latest beta.
when you put in the url and press enter, nothing happens, you have to click with your mouse to continue on. Do you have any fix for this?
I just tried typing a link in url bar and hit enter, it brings me to the url… No problem for me.
Damn, I got all excited for nothing. Hotmail still doesn’t work for me using this new 3.1 beta 3 version. Still just have the continual Loading…
Funny thing is I get the same thing in IE on my computer. Haven’t been able to access Hotmail in over 2 years using ANY browser. Always just Loading….
Glad it worked for you though. Not gonna reinstall XP just so to access hotmail hehe since everything else works just peachy
Never mind what I just said! Just figured out why hotmail hasn\\\’t been working… Ad Muncher wasn\\\’t even letting hotmail load on portable browsers! That\\\’s crazy. I shutdown Ad Muncher totally and Hotmail now works on IE, this new Firefox beta, even the newest Opera 9.64 which I do have installed. Freakin Ad Muncher screwing me up. Who knew?
- What theme are you using raymond? I love the simplicity of it, you should check out an add-on called hide menubar, i think you will like it.
- Does anyone knows how to fix problem with gmail, I cant copy or paste inside gmail when using firefox minefield 3.2a1pre
and yes i use minefield because its super fast =D
Mr. Raymond,
Thanks you so much for pointing this out. I have not been checked my mail since October because of unfortunate firefoxs beta. Now I can reply to months off email from Niger spammers.
I am using Firefox 3.0.7 and I have no problem loading my Hotmail…. It always works for me. There is no forever loading sign.
LunarWolf, READ THE ARTICLE before writing irrelevant comment.
Can’t believe how you miss this sentence that says “Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 was released early December and I am sure everyone has been having problems viewing the emails in Hotmail Inbox. ”
Duh~
LOL confusion among readers!
BTW, FIrefox 3.1 is really great, better than the best
but when im using Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 loading my hotmail, no problem at all?
hahaha. lunarwolf. anyway does work for me. works fine on my beta 3 version. hie hie the only trouble is i keep going to the 3.0.7 version when i double click to go to firefox on my desktop.

Look at how many people are having that problem. It is a known problem, and not a random problem. CrazyGuy maybe you had the nightly build of Firefox 3.1 Beta 2?
Useless beta in your pc if it is just a fix for a Hotmail problem Revert to 3.0.7 period.
But if anyone here is more on power and development, in FF BETA TraceMonkey is OFF by default. Nothing to really be excited if youre just a plain user. for developers and power users Turn it ON to appreciate beta of firefox and help us the community to improve the engine.
* open a new tab;
* type “about:config” and hit enter;
* read the warning and heed its wisdom;
* enter “jit” in the filter field;
* change the value of “javascript.options.jit.content” to enable (true) and disable (false) TraceMonkey for JavaScript in Web content;
* change the value of “javascript.options.jit.chrome” to enable (true) and disable (false) TraceMonkey for JavaScript in XUL/chrome.
Thanks.
Sorry Raymod. Thought you was talking about 3.0.7. My bet.
The enter button doesn’t work for me either, I have the same case as reply number 5. Maybe it has to do with updating from 3.0.7 without uninstalling it? Oh well just thought I’d let you know.
Hi Raymond. Is any Chance to get from your friends again Advanced SystemCare Professional….
Touche..:)
should I reinstall this firefox..? i mean i tried everything though its a bit tedious to enter the url and then press go with the mouse..anyhow ill try it..and tell you. btw thanks for this again.
i reinstalled it though it has the same problem for some reason..anyways i think im used enough with this..:D..thank you anyways…bye.
Firefox is not the answer to every computer problem, it’s just a Fisher-Price type of interface for ignorant people who don’t know how to use a computer and need someone else to do everything for them, mainly women, but nelly-belle guys too.
