Thanks for these instructions. Does anyone know if MSN will run on Wine under Linux?

And btw, a direct download of MSN is now available from the Microsoft website

Thanks a lot, I surf the net with low bandwidth and it took me all afternoon to download messenger! I had some issues to get the installer to work, too: I had to update Windows Installer (jalaj.net/2008/01/20/downloading-windows-update-agent-5802469/) and delete a folder (msn-errors.blogspot.com/2007/06/cant-install-windows-live-messenger.html) to make it work.
And if you couldn’t find the \WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources folder, that’s because it’s hidden: go to Tools -> Folder Options -> (second tab) -> untick “Hide protected files … (recommended)”.
It’s so complicated to install it, and no wonder it’s Microsoft that’s causing me so much trouble… Stupid Microsoft…
