I have the same problem with Mix (post 31), but with the BitDefender antivirus. While the antivirus boots up normally, it can’t seem to be able to find my HDD. I have tested it on an other computer and it works perfectly, so i don’t think it’s a disk fault. Any Ideas?

I have Winxp in my computer . Does the the rescue disc work with me, because I tried it but it doesnt boot and ask for files!!

Philip:

1. While you can mount an ISO within Windows(or other OS), the whole point of this boot CD is for it to be run before/instead of Windows. So you need it to burn it to CD and boot your PC from it.

2. There\’s no issue with your system running Windows. The rescue CD boots and runs Linux from the CD, so it doesn\’t alter your Windows install, except when it removes a virus from it.

Magnificent. I have two questions though:

1. If you download the ISO file, can you boot through the file without burning the image into disc?(i\’ve heard it\’s about mounting the cd, is possible?)

2. I\’m a little bit confused of \”the disc mounting linux\” because i use windows as my OS. Is there an issue in that?
