Sorry for the lack of updates for nearly a week as I just came back from KL from a cousin’s wedding.

By the way, I looked for Artic Silver 5 at Sunway Pyramid and Midvalley Megamall computer shops, and believe it or not! most of so-called techies doesn’t even know what is a Thermal Compound!
I had to explain to them that it’s some kinda paste you put it between the CPU’s core and heatsink for better heat transmitting.
Duh…

My average monthly electricity bill is around $70.
I use the air-cond 2 hours a day, leave only 1 fluorescent light at the kitchen on when I sleep, refrigerator and computer is on for 24 hours, use washing machine twice a week… and a few more small little things.
I felt it’s quite expensive since I don’t use much electricity and I am charged for that amount.

My computer has been down for a month and surprisingly, my electricity bill dropped to $35!
It seems that my computer electricity cost $1 per day for 24 hours.

Do you think it’s cheap?
If your answer is NO, how about using a solar array system to get cheap electricity? Or even getting your meter to spin backwards and get those Electric companies to pay you for generating power for them?

However, I’m not even sure how legal is this… Some people says that it’s legal in some part of Australia and USA.
It will be “VERY” useful if it’s legal in Malaysia because there is sun all year round.

NEW YORK, Dec 21 (Reuters) – Computer disk drive supplier Seagate Technology has agreed to buy rival Maxtor Corp. for $1.9 billion in stock, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The paper said the deal is expected to be unveiled later in the day, with Seagate planning to swap 0.37 of a Seagate share for each Maxtor share.

Under the terms of the deal, as reported by the Journal, the transaction is worth about $7.25 a share for Maxtor investors, a 60 percent premium to its closing price on Tuesday.

Both the Seagate and Maxtor boards have approved the deal, the paper reported, which will unit two big hard drive makers.

The Journal, citing people familiar with the deal, said the companies are likely to argue to antitrust regulators that consumers would benefit because of cost efficiencies, among other things.

Neither Seagate nor Maxtor representatives could be immediately reached for comment.

OSLO, Norway — A Web camera made it possible for two men to get help for their mother after she collapsed at her home, even though she was thousands of miles away.

Karin Jordal, a 69-year-old Norwegian artist living in Pinon Hills, Calif., collapsed in her living room Thursday. The woman, who is diabetic, lay motionless on a couch when her son Tore, who was in the Philippines, saw her through her Web cam.

Tore had initially tried to call her and got no answer, then tried emergency authorities in California but couldn’t get through, said Tore’s brother Ole Jordal, who lives in the western Norwegian city of Bergen.

Tore then phoned Ole, just as Ole and his wife Tammy were having breakfast. Tammy, an American who’s originally from Long Island, N.Y., knew just whom to call, Ole said.

“It took five or 10 minutes for the ambulance personnel to arrive,” he said Friday.

Ole Jordal said the family was on the verge of tears when they watched on the Web camera as ambulance personnel assisted their diabetic mother, who is recovering at Desert Valley Hospital in California.

“I thank that camera and my sons for my life,” Karin Jordal told the Norwegian newspaper Bergens Tidende by telephone from her hospital bed. She has lived in the United States and Spain on and off for the past 15 years.

Ole Jordal said low blood sugar caused his mother’s collapse, and that she would stay in the hospital for a few days before going home. Ole said the family had set up Web cameras in their homes because of the high cost of staying in touch by telephone.

“But now I see the Internet as a way to save lives. It’s also a wonderful tool for people who live alone in some remote area, and might need help,” he said.

The mother had been unconscious for about two hours before her sons checked in, so there was also an element of luck, since they only use the camera a few times a week.

P/S: My opinion, leaving your webcam on at inappropriate moments can seriously ruin your life.

This is bad for our country!
If the girl is really from China, I believe the amount of tourist from China that visits Malaysia might be lessen drastically.
Strip search should be okay if they suspect anything, but to ask them to do ear squat, is abusing their powers.
Sigh… :(
