gpedit isn’t in XP Home version either. Still looking for a permanent solution to this; all the solutions I’ve found only work until the next restart.

buna!am si eu o pb la calc pe care vreau sa o rezolv…cand vreau sa inchid calc imi apare sub TURNING OFF si celelalte 2 unde este si restartul si stand by …urmatoarea chestie: click turn off install important updates and turn off your computer.click here to turn off without instaling updates…. ce as putea sa fac sa scap de ea ?! multumesc :*

All I did was Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools Open ‘Services’ then stop ‘Automatic Updates’ And it stops it until you restart, in which, it will start again with windows. =]
