If you’ve searched the keyword “myspace” on this site, you’ll find 4 methods to download music from MySpace. First way is to use Audacity to record the streaming music on your computer. Then there is MySpace MP3 Gopher which is no longer available because of complaints. MyspaceMP3.org web based MySpace music downloader also no longer offering their services due to some “evil” people. Finally, there is one legit software called “Replay Media Catcher”, a shareware, that allows you to capture streaming audio and video from any websites such as YouTube, MySpace and etc…

Seems like all options to download music from MySpace has ran out other than Replay Media Catcher. The software cost $39.95 and I know I wouldn’t fork out that kind of money just to download video and audio. I might as well spend that money on security products (antivirus or firewall).

Today I found an interesting website that provides free service to download any files from any website including MP3 from MySpace even if it shows “Artists has not enabled downloads for this song“.


File2HD.com is a simple website which you can enter any URL and then it will list all the files that is linked to the website. You can also use their filter to display all files, audio, movies, links, applications, objects, style sheets and images. So if you want to grab MySpace audio, just select audio button so it will only display audio files. Some websites has many files and it might be confusing for some computer users.

Download MySpace music MP3

Here’s a simple instruction on how to download music from MySpace.

1. Enter the link of the website.

2. Check “I have read and agree to the Terms of Service”

3. The filter is ALL by default. If you’re trying to get audio file from a website, then select Audio. This is optional.

4. Click Get Files button. Wait for a few seconds and it will display URLs at the bottom.

5. Right click the URL and select Save As. That’s all! Download will start and the the file will be saved on your local hard drive.

File2HD.com is NOT specifically used to download music from MySpace. It can also download many other files from any websites. There are reports that File2HD.com is able to download videos from YouTube, Google Video, MetaCafe, Veoh and many more. Theoretically File2HD should be able to download any kind of file from any site but if the files are hidden inside the HTML code, flash code or javascripts, then it can’t find the file.

Is File2HD.com providing illegal service? No I don’t think so as it is used to list files that it can find on a URL. Enjoy!

      hey ray. iv been using your tips for quite a while, and have been greatfull of your tips for a long time. espicaly from the myspacemp3 one. well, at least while it worked

      however their is another way now – much simpler than all this and free

      if you use firefox, simply add the “video downloadhelper” add on.

      its proved usefull to e ever since myspacemp3 shut down.

      File2HD.com doesn’t seem to work with imeem.com and other music/video websites that use “anti-leech” technology. My favorite way for downloading from myspace.com, imeem.com, last.fm, etc. is the free program “free music zilla” (www.freemusiczilla.com or download.com)–it can do it despite any anti-leech strategies by the website.

      There are some sites that use the “rtmp” protocol to stream their audio/video (such as finetune.com), and the only free downloader program that I have found that can handle rtmp streams is Orbit Downloader (see download.com).

      If anybody has found an even better free downloader that can handle rtmp streams I would be interested to know.

      another alternative would be using the combination of Grab++ and Orbit Downloader which is freeware.

      Grab++ is a component of Orbit and acts like video downhelper

      and Internet Download Manager is also able to capture the myspace mp3 for download before the player starts to stream the song

      lastly the easier way would be using the firefox add-on video downloadhelper, like the most of the others have suggested

      For all those wanting to download off of http://www.purevolume.com

      Open the Grab++ in Orbit

      Download the file and

      Save the file as .m4a

      The file usually looks like this (With different numbers and letters)

      “728690595e92a599f867ef348943cbcbc5c30c5e.m4a”
      (You can rename it to whatever .m4a after the download)

      Sometimes it takes some playing around with, try to not already have the song in your cache (That seems to add some issues with me)

      I can’t get music off of purevolume, and its not a big deal and all but they have some songs that are demos and you can’t find them anywhere else, I know that dude said you could use orbit, but it doesn’t work, does anyone know how to get the songs, even if its illegal?

      this is the best way to download music from myspace but now it doesn’t work too bad :(

      This site works if you paste the correct urls in there. The way I have been able to get into areas that others are saying you cant is by starting with the page and bring up all files and look for any sub directories that have the audio in and the repaste that url in the box. 15gb of music dled from that site in a day.
