"cannot found hive system"

can anyone help?

Im trying to run it on a now what is a internal hard drive which for back up im using externally,

however, compatibilty is the only thing thats coming to my mind...

hard drive is NTFS Formatted
and copy of xp is Home edition
does this make a differnce?
and im using one of those "use your internal hard drives as external things"
Sata/2.5IDE/3.5IDE to usb

the copy of XP is actually suppose to be ligit, so some one in the past has actually purchased the copy of XP that im trying to get into,

is there no other way of viewing not even editing just view to see if copy installed matches the serial on the chasis of the machiene

I think Windows Key Finder 1.3 boot CD is a good choice for recovering lost product keys when you can't boot your computer into Windows.

I have a question.
When I bought a computer, my computer dealer did not give me a windows xp cd but installed windows xp sp2 genuine and gave me a cd-key.
Can i reinstall windows using that cd key.
Or can I Download windows xp genuine using that cd-key?

I have found an even easier way...

1. Download + Install the Magic Jelly Bean Keyfinder
http://magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/

2. Load up the dead O/S hard drive on to a working computer (I use an external hub I pulled a CD RW drive out of).

3. Start the keyfinder, go to Tools > Load Hive... Then point it to the Windows folder on that hard drive, and voila! The Product Key will come up in a few seconds!
