i have the same problem as siddharha and i do what john said just before. i capture it then when i try to look at it it says "Photo Gallery can't display this picture because it is an empty file."

does anyone have any ideas on why this happens or how to fix it?

I'm not sure why Siddharha had that problem; it worked when I tried it. When you choose the Selection option and click Capture, the program minimizes to the Taskbar and the cursor turns into a crosshair. You click and drag it to define a rectangular area that you want to capture, and then when you release the mouse button it automatically saves the JPEG file to the specified location (the Desktop by default).
