I am actually needing a step by step proceedure on ADDING BACK my history drop down on my tool bar. I have ran into a situation where it saves all history untill I power off my computer and all of it, ALL drop down history is gone without a trace .PLEASE HELP!!!!

Try using IEHistoryView instead. do a google search on that name to find a download link, or look at giveawayoftheday (dot) com.

Here is one that lists ALL history entries. I do not know about compatibility, but it works on IE6 WinXP:

Regarding your mention of “IE Address Bar Editor”. After downloading and trying on IE 6.0 with Windows XP, I find that while the address editor does run, it does not work completely. It only lists the root address entries, and does not list any addresses that have subfolders. Using your site for example: As I begin typing raymond.cc, it displays the following list:
raymond.cc/blog
raymond.cc/blog/archives/2006/11/10/editing-urls-at-internet-explorer-address-bar-history/
However, when I look at the related entries in IE Address Editor, the only entry is raymond.cc

Perhaps it is a help to be able to remove all entries for a specific site, but I would really like to find one that would allow me to edit out subfolder entries while keeping the same sites root entry.
