The people at PC Tools must be mad! Just yesterday I shared with you a way to obtain free PC Tools Privacy Guardian license and today I found another way to get a free 1 year genuine license for PC Tools Internet Security 2009. They are just giving away whatever they have before Symantec starts to own them. However, I believe that they are in the right track of promoting their products. If they didn’t do this, they wouldn’t be so popular today and on the way of selling the company to Symantec.

Usually an Internet Security suite software is an all-in-one security software that can protect your computer against virus, spyware, hackers, spam and etc. It is also usually more expensive than the normal antivirus software because antivirus software only protects your computer against virus. PC Tools Internet Security 2009 software normally cost $59.95 for 3 computer user license but here is how you can get it for free!

    2. Enter the URL http://www.pctools.com/internet-security/free/promo/PCADVISOR0809/ at the bar where it says Web Address and click Go.

    3. Enter your first name, last name, e-mail, address, city, country, zip, random code and most importantly the Promotion Code as LE8ATR and click the Request Free License button. Make sure that you’re entering a working email address because the license key code will be sent there!

    4.Once you see the message “Thank you for requesting your FREE license for Internet Security v2009, Your free license code will be e-mailed to you shortly.”, check the email address that you’ve entered at step 3. Open the email from PC Tools (sales@pctools.com) with the subject “Free Internet Security License”. Note down the name and license key.

    5. Download latest PC Tools Internet Security 2009 and install.

    6. After installation, restart your computer, run PC Tools Internet Security 2009 and click the Register button. Enter the name and license key. Voila! A fully registered version of PC Tools Internet Security 2009!

    A few important note. You have to access the promotional link via web proxy because it checks the IP address or else you will see a page with the error “Please enter the full website address listed in your magazine or promotion.” If you’re from United Kingdom, you can directly access the promotion link without web proxy. Although it did ask you to install PC Tools Internet Security 2009 from the cover disc that accompanied your recent magazine purchase because the latest version downloaded from PC Tools website will NOT work for this, I can confirm that it works.

      Thanks, it worked for me! But had to use IE instead of Firefox to make it work…Firefox is a bit secure and didn\\\’t allow proxy to work. Maybe Adblock plus + FF3.0.1 + KAV 2009 are a bit too much. :lol:

      btw ray i hav avast in my system now. i hav to uninstal avast inorder to instal PC Tools. so, wat do ya suggest i do? which is better? PC Tools or Avast?

      This is a good software but It makes your computer slow down!
      Use Avira Antivir+Windows Defender is better
      Or AVG. PC Tools can’t detect any virus from Asia (such as China and Vietnam). It is good only for US and EU only!

      @frootie: If you have Avast Professional version, then you probably don’t need this because Avast Pro has all-in-one protection.

      if you run two internet security or anti-viruses at the same time it causes so many clashes

      Looks promising. Features firewall, hips – threatfire -, spyware – spyware doctor -, only AV performance is rather unknown. Looking forward to see an independent comparison against major security suites, and if PC Tools will be able to keep this on the market providing there’s a running take-over from Symantec.

      nothing compares witw spyware doctor as antispyware protection. I use Avira free+ PC Tools Internet Sec+ Outpost firewall. I disabeled the firewall and the virus engine which fades comparising with the other options and I have the best speed ever. Kaspersky is great, best is Bitdefender as a all in one sollution.No 1 in everything is best. So…Avira+ the rest. And thanks to Ray I didn\’t pay a cent for any of this. Thks again. Will follow.

      I only recently activated my package of three (3) PCTools licenses as provided by WestPac.

      Inexplicably, after a couple of weeks, the lean-machine SpywareDoctor AntiVirus suddenly turned into an incredibly voracious resources-hog, though. (Yes, both CPU- and RAM-wise.)
