Have you got your free ZoneAlarm Pro 2009 license yet? If not, please do because the offer is still valid! Anyway, I got to be honest that I was never a fan of ESET products (NOD32 or Smart Security). It boast to be very light in system resources but in fact there are other even lighter antivirus software. It also boast about their ThreatSense which is able to detect unknown virueses but since early this year until today, it still couldn’t detect the private trojan that I have when other antivirus such as Kaspersky and Avira can detect it.

However, if NOD32 Antivirus works great on your computer, do continue using it because having an antivirus program installed is better than having none. Since February I’ve been posting a lot about freebies on how to get genuine license for softwares but ESET products are the toughest one to get. I am very happy to be the FIRST to share with you a method to get a genuine free nod32 username and password that is valid for 3 months.

    2. Fill up the form. Parola means password, Ad / Soyad means your full name, E-posta means E-mail. As for the rest, you can simply select anything from the drop down menu. Click “Kayıt ol !” button when done.

    3. You will get the legit ESET NOD32 Antivirus serial number highlighted in yellow at the next page. Note down the serial key.

    4. Now go to this page http://www.eset.com/register/index.php to register and activate your NOD32 Antivirus. Enter the serial number that you received in step 3 and fill up the rest in the form. Click Submit button when done.

    5. You will get your NOD32 username and password at the next page.

    6. Now download the latest NOD32 Antivirus if you don’t have one installed. You’ll be prompted to login. Just enter the username and password that you got from step 5.

    7. During installation, you’ll be prompted to enter the NOD32 Antivirus username and password for automatic update. Use the username and password that you got in step 5.

    After getting a free nod32 username and password using the method above, you have to clear your web browser’s cache in order to get the next one. Otherwise it’ll just forward you to their mainpage when you try to access the offer page.

    During idle, egui.exe takes up 6236K and ekrn.exe takes up 36320K. The memory usage for ekrn.exe process increased during computer scan but never goes more than 40000K. NOD32 took only 3 minutes and 27 seconds to scan 47907 objects. I consider that as fast but not as fast as Norton Antivirus 2009 which took only a little more than a minute. Unfortunately, ESET NOD32 Antivirus still unable detect the private trojan that I have. They sure need to improve their ThreatSense technology.       I completely differ from you Raymond in terms of memory usage of Eset…

      Although the post is about Eset Anti-Virus(EAV).. I suppose an Internet security suite should consume more memory than Anti-Virus.. So in that sense.. EAV should consume more or less the same memory as ESS

      I don\’t know about the Pvt Trojan detection.. but for me.. among all the Security systems I personally tried.. Eset was and is the best.. I Love it…

      @Tejaswi: Weirdly your egui.exe and ekrn.exe is so much smaller than what I got. I installed the latest NOD32 on a clean XP SP3 that doesn’t have any other software installed. Perhaps you could share with us how you manage to configure NOD32 to take so little memory usage?

      As for the private trojan that I have, it is actually no more in development but it is undetectable by antivirus signatures. Only an antivirus with good proactive technology can detect it.

      No I can’t do that Uplink. By doing that, it’ll cause the private trojan to be recognized by all antivirus.

      You mention NOD32 Antivirus, but I noticed that the confirmation e-mail says it’s for ESET Smart Security (the whole package that includes Antivirus, Firewall, Antispam, etc)… and the code actually works for that as well. Yippee!

      Hello Raymond..

      Even I am using the latest Eset Smart Security and have installed XP SP3, Installed just 4 Months ago.

      I do not change any settings in Eset. In fact I set higher detection rates.. I mean to say strict cleaning and settings to scan all archives and all file types and settings like that..

      Nothing more than that I play with Eset.

      And as you can see from my task manager screen shot, I have disabled all unnecessary processes running in the background and may be that is causing the less memory usage i suppose.. However I do not know much about this.

      ESET NOD32 Antivirus is a nice antivirus. Unfortunately it is really too expensive.

      I\’d rather prefer to get the free Antivir from Avira, and even the paid Avira Antivir Premium is still worth spending a few dollars as it is the best an the cheapest antivirus

      i dont have internet but still can update offline.just download description,put in the thumdrive go to my pc and update.

      1. Download latest offline update
      2. Extract to the root of your hard drive or USB drive, or any other folder that you’re comfortable with. Make note of the folder with name nod_upd in your USB drive or hard drive, for example C:\nod_upd.
      3. Open up the NOD32 Control Center by clicking on the system tray icon.
      4. Open the “Update” screen and click on “Setup”.
      5. Choose your USB drive, eg. F:\nod_up\ or D:\nod_upd or anything…
      6. Then, at the update screen, click “Update now”.

      If you get many serials in yellow then you get to activate them later. they wont expire if you havent registrated them yet at ESET page. I have tried it.

      tried steps 1 and 2 but could not get the serial number for some reason.
      it showed a green check but no serial number.. T_T
      tried to register 2 emails but to no avail..
      can you guys help me with this one?

      on the other side, tried to use the posted username and password, worked for a while then I could not update the virus signature because it keeps on asking for the username and password which when I check the license is says there valid until 2/17/2009. Do not know what happen here and is a little confuse why it is not updating.. tried the 2 posted username and password but gave the same responce. perhaps it is blocked?

      The article became paradoxical. When you don’t believe that NOD is not the best antivirus software how would others be inspired to use it?
