I got hit by viruses last night, and I used F-Secure. It's very easy to use, and updated to the latest definitions (I had an ethernet cable plugged in.)

Try using the latest version off their web site, that should work.

I have tried to get any of these bootable CD's to actually update to a new signiture set. Alas the F-Secure would not do it. Nor would any one I tried except the Kaspersky Linux boot disk. This offers file or internet updates but only the internet update would work. As I'm in a business with multiple, probably infrected computers on the network Internet updates are not practical. I need to be able to use a file update or save the new database of signitures to the CD or USB, anyone have actual practical experience of making this work?

It's a good rescue CD but it won't work with WinVista and NTFS drives. Just tried it and as many other Linux-based boot CDs, it's not able to mount NTFS drives.
