One thing about spending your holidays in Europe is you will be taking lots and lots of pictures because everything there is so beautiful. During my honeymoon, me and my wife had taken thousands of pictures because we had our own camera. We were snapping every nice building and beautiful scenery. When we got back, some of our friends and relatives were asking us to send the photos taken in Europe but I know it wasn’t easy because every picture is in very high resolution and resizing all of them is going to be a tedious task. Moreover, I wasn’t really very sure what is the best way or software to batch resize and compress the images so that the quality is still there and the file size is small.

One of my hobbies is photograph and another ones my daughters, so joining both i have more than 20.000 photographs and a mother who wants all on her pocket.

I often send pictures pictures back to my parents in India. as the internet speed there is worst, i have to save it as png & send. This reduces the quality to a large extent.

Seems like a no-brainer, everyone has use of a photo re-sizing program of this quality whether it be for email or disk space. I have tons of pictures of wiring jobs that I’ve done for Audio/Video systems in houses before the walls went up and am hesitant to delete them but…….

Hi Raymond, this is my first time commenting on your post, and also the first time of wanting to participate into this “lottery-like” free license giveaway.
Since I have tons of photos on my computer (90% of them are photos that I took when I got onto vacation to another place), so it would be very helpful if I have this piece of software. its exactly wat i need… – no more space on my HD because of masses of pictures. i build new designs for win7, so that i can see my pictures in a diashow – if i see a nice picture i MUST save it, but in a week or two my disk is full (and no money to buy a new one..). would be nice to compress my files ( 98 % !!)so that my work can go on…

The unknown of just how big a picture one will end up needing makes this proggy a great decision eliminator. I would take most pics in the 3-8megapixel range in case I have to print and/or use a large image, but for email? 75dpi or .3megapixels is quite enough. With this proggy I could still have my 3-8megapixel images but if a group was needed to be emailed, then FILEminimizer would be just the ticket. Thanks for your offer.

I’ve just been given a Canon DSLR as a present and plan to shoot images in RAW format, but I already have over 20000 jpeg images taken with my compact digital camera and really need to compress them and recoup the HDD space for the larger RAW images so the FILEminimizer software will be a godsend.

FILEminimizer Pictures can be very handy for me because my provider doesn’t allow me to send big emails and I hate to mail low res pictures.
As an amateur photographer, I have a lot of nice pictures. I have a few hard drives, but the remaining space becomes smaller. I don’t want to lose photos so I think this program can be very handy.
I got close to a hundred thousand memorable scenic snapshots, each JPEG 12MB or so, from my Amtrak tours to pass on to next generations. I need to be able to organize them in manageable archives without sacrificing too much of their original quality. I want to test what much can balesio do to help me.

At LEAST several times a week my wife is shooting pictures for free for charities (at about 300-999 pics per session) and I’m having a hard time keeping up with her storage demands. This would be a big help.

I often get the chance to send pictures to a few people, however a couple have very slow computers and / phone connections they are working off. My brother just came back from his holiday, he wanted to send the picture’s to some of his friend. I found out that he took 900mb worth of picture’s, compressing them with winrar made it a 850mb big file, after compressing them with winrar I was planning to upload it, but I found out it would have taken 3 hours to do so. So I just gave up on the whole process.

Hi, Part of my job is to compile photos and send them thro webmail for internet hosting and get printed in company magazines. So your giveaway will be very helpful for me as my company’s webmail struggles to send photos greater than 1.5 MB.

This program looks good, but you can do just about the same with imagemagick, which is free. With their example of the ocean picture I was able to get 336KB which is pretty close to their 235KB.

I’ll use it for business – reduce filesize for my web pages and software; and pleasure – reduce my loads of personal pix on my media partition (I’m almost out of space).

Hey Raymond, that sounds like a really good software :) I’ve got about 20 gigs worth of photos at home and a few videos of my little brother (1.5 years) and my parents are constantly snapping photos, so it’s bound to increase…
My parents have an old PC with ide drives, and since they don’t have much capacity on those drives, they’re using my gaming rig as their little NAS… I could really see this software being used in my family, so my parents won’t ask me to turn on my gaming rig every time someone wants to look at photos of my brother xD

I hope to win this stuff from raymond. I have tons of pictures to be minimized from a bigger size. I am using a pentax digicam with an 8 mega pixel capacity and everytime im using it i like the resolution set to high for optimum clarity. This program would really help a lot especially in sending picture files. Hope i get lucky!

Ray i took a lot of photo and i enjoying sending them to my family but it’s a pain because they are High Resolution i either have to zip it or put it on a FTP site, well you know not everyone is computer savvy and know how to open up zip file of login to a FTP site, this program will be helpful.

Hi,i’m a student studying in one of d public uni.i subscribe to maxis broadband and share it with a few friends.as a result, d connection is excruciatingly slow,so uploading photos to facebook or friendster will take ages,to say the least.But, as a student with no income,this is all i can afford for now.

It would be a great help in reducing hundreds of picture i’ve snap in my collection. I’m working in education sector and all the school acitivities involving students & teachers need to keep in school pc which used up lots of memory. Burn into CDs didn’t help much neither.
This sounds very useful. I gave my wife a 10.2 megapixel camera and the pictures it takes are huge. She always complains that when she wants to send them to people it takes for ever to upload. With this, it should be a lot faster.

Hey Ray, would love this to bits! My camera outputs huge images (3-5mb on a good day :P) and it’s always a pain trying to send them to friends and family, or even uploading them anywhere.
I also make a lot of forum signatures on request and generally struggle to keep filesizes down as I like to keep my image’s quality!

I am working on a insect vector biology and for that I need to click some high definition snaps of insect vectors like ticks but the problem arises when I have to include those snaps in presentation or word files, the size bulges like anything.
I need this software..pls give me one of the 200 free registrations…

I travel to 3 different states to follow supermodifieds.
They are a unique breed of race car that a lot of people are unfamiliar with.
My wife and I take hundreds of pictures of the cars and the facilities where they run. But trying to efficiently manage and resize these photos can be a headache.
This software would allow for easier storage. The smaller file size would use less resources when viewing and the pics will open faster on my computer systems.

Hi Ray: I need this to send pics of grandkids (who live close by) to the rest of the family and great-grandparents. I have hundreds of pics but only dial-up internet service (high speed is not available for at least another 10 yrs} and it takes forever to send pics unless they are reduced to be unrecognizeable and no good for printing at the other end.

I have about 3 GB of photos crammed onto my USB memory stick and with the other 10 GB of songs then it will very soon be full and I’ll need to find somewhere else to store my stuff. As all of my family and most of my friends live in different parts of the country than I do, sending and uploading pictures is something done regularly. I would love to have a way to make that easier. I’ve been needing a program like this for quite a while so I can compress the pictures, upload, and also send to others without such large file sizes. It would also save space on my computer that’s constantly needing more space it seems.

I work in Afghanistan and have been here for over 2 years now, but to try and send pictures home to my wife and children has been a nightmare, the files are so large the Internet connection we have always times out, so a file minimiser would be an extreme advantage.
Please include me in the draw since my wife and I also take lots of pictures when we go travelling and it is really a pain to upload to Facebook when the file sizes are too big!

Both my parents passed away this year and I inherited every photo album they had so I am attempting to make a DVD for my whole family, I am trying to keep the DVD down to a single disk (duel layer) with over 50 years of pictures its a lot of work I am about 15% of the way through scanning them.
I have a feeling I would able to get a hell of a lot more images onto the DVD with this app.

I am a pest controller and I have about 10gb of pics of insects that could do with reducing.
In my work I upload weekly over 1.000 pictures made in clubs and pubs from the parties they have.
I love to help people feeling the vibe from their Desktop, wherever they are.
Now I receive and send archives with hundreds of pics, and some of it have 400-700 MB.
With this great tool I could have those archives in 10-25 MB.

Just so far I have not realized any prize.
I have thousands of photos on various DVDs that I took with my girlfriend during trips. While some of the discs got scratched I had to buy other DVDs to copy them. This software would be a great tool to save a bit of money because a single DVD would now hold way more many pics if they are Fileminimized!

This is really a neat app that will be useful in Archiving our family’s extensive library of old classic photographs that capture the spirit of the 1950′s to the present.
We can now scan these photos and store them electronically as many are now fading due to acidic corrosion over time.

I’m a student at the university of Leuven in Belgium. In my room, I have an internetconnection of the university itselfs, called Kotnet. The connection is cheap, but this makes that the connection is very slow and has only an upload of 500mb a month. This makes it hard to send photos to my family and friends. Yeah, it seems I’m not the only one shooting anything that moves and doesn’t… and now my 1 TB drive is almost fool of holiday footage and other stuff, so instead of starting to go through all those thousands of pictures to select the best ones, why not just compress them all? ;)

i’m an oversea student, owning a DSLR, the toughest job is when your parents ask for pictures and you gotta minimize it so put as much pictures into an email and where u need to do it manually with PAINT! it’s a PITA.
My wife and I went on a driving trip around Germany in July and took lots of pics. Friends and family have not seen the great pics we took due to the size of the files, so this app will certainly bring us closer to sharing our pics with our loved ones!
