Please bear with me if I shared with you too much about keystroke encryption with you and I assure you that this is probably the last since I have covered nearly all of them. I am personally looking for the best keystroke encryption software because last week I realized how important it is to keep my password safe as there are too many undetectable malwares out there which only a handful good antivirus can only start detecting it after a couple of days. By then it’s too late when my password falls into the wrong hands…
After tested KeyScrambler and NextGen AntiKeylogger, KeyScrambler wins the competition by preventing 10 different types of keyloggers from capturing keystrokes and also more stable because some of the NextGen AntiKeylogger features doesn’t work. Looking to review more alternatives, I found GuardedID, created by StrikeForce Technologies, Inc which also claims to provide keylogger protection by encryption keystrokes.
There is a fully functional 30 day trial which can only be downloaded after providing a valid credit card. After passing the 30 day trial, your credit card will automatically be charged USD $24.99 annually, valid for 2 computers. Yes, GuardedID is a subscription software and will stop working when the subscription period is expired.
There are 2 modules on GuardedID which is for the Desktop and Internet Explorer/Firefox. The Desktop module encrypts your keystrokes with an incremental number; for example, typing “www.raymond.cc” becomes “01234567890123″. As for the Internet Explorer/Firefox module, it provides protection against clickjacking by warning you when you’re about to click on a potentially dangerous opacity (transparent) and positional button or link.
Elite Keylogger – FAIL
REFOG Keylogger – PASS
Revealer Keylogger Pro – PASS
Award Keylogger Pro – PASS
All In One Keylogger – PASS
Ardamax Keylogger – PASS
WebWATCHER – PASS
DarkComet RAT – PASS
CyberGate RAT – PASS
BlackShades RAT – PASS
The reason why GuardedID fails to protect the keystroke against Elite Keylogger is because it is a low level kernel keylogger, which is not a common method in keystroke logging and requires very competent programming skills.
Other than that, screen capturing is automatically disabled by GuardedID. One way to go around that restriction to capture the screenshot of GuardedID Preferences window is by using another computer to connect via Remote Desktop and then capture the screnshot from there.

Another good thing about GuardedID is the keystroke encryption works on most if not all applications, unlike KeyScrambler or NextGen AntiKeylogger where it only works on supported software.
My only gripe on GuardedID is there is no way to temporarily disable the protection other than terminating the process. When the GuardedID Desktop process (GIDD.exe) is killed from Windows Task Manager, the keystroke encryption instantly gets disabled. Way too easy to bypass GuardedID protection… I would continue to use KeyScrambler because I only need to pay for it once, blocks all keylogging methods, continue to encrypt keystrokes even process is terminated and it supports 64bit Windows.

Thanks a lot for the share Raymond!! .The best anti-logger that I have tested to date in my opinion is zemana.
Hi Ray, can you test virtual keyboards that are standalone programs or come with security packages (like Kaspersky) when you have time? I wonder if an user who uses lastpass but types in her master password with a virtual keyboard be secure enough against keyloggers.
Raymond:
I agree with you 100% and appreciate your input. And you are correct key Scrambler and Zemana are 2 different softwares in their approach on protection. My point only was I feel after working with all 3 software I am comfortable and confident in Zemana that is my opinion. Zemana will block any attempts to read your keyboard so I am confident you don’t need to encrypt Looking forward on any additional info you can provide. Right now I am starting to work with anti-malware software. Thanks for your time.
Thanks a lot for the share Raymond!! You convinced me from the start with Keyscrambler, but I’m sad I can’t afford at the moment none of the paid so I’m just using the Free (Web browser) edition of Kescrambler, which I also installed on my mothers computer :P
Anyway, keep up with the good work and thanks again! :D
@Tony Rogers: No doubt Zemana is one of the best anti keylogger which I have reviewed 2 years ago.
raymond.cc/blog/archives/2009/02/23/impressive-zemana-antilogger-proactive-protection-free-1-year-license/
Still, KeyScrambler and Zemana are 2 different thing. Zemana detects logging activity and blocks it but KeyScrambler protects what you type on your keyboard.
@Gerard: I’ll take a look at SpyShelter since it claims to be “World’s No #1 anti-spy and anti keylogging tool”
The best anti-logger that I have tested to date in my opinion is zemana. I have tried key scrabbler , spy shelter and a few more, but zemana technology is ahead of its time
@Raymond,
I didn’t know. Sorry. Anyway, keep up the good job. :)
Hi,
Please, can you try SpyShelter Premium :
spyshelter.com/
It seems to be a very good anti-keylogger !
Thank you for yours articles.
@Raymond: of course I know you don’t earn a cent. Don’t mistake my words…it was just intended as a compliment to your attention in reviewing softwares! thanks again for your precious time. :D
@LunarWolf: Do you know that protection method used by Prevx safeonline and Neo’s keysafe are different than KeyScrambler, GuardedID, and NextGen? If they are different, how can they be compared? I normally write and share what I learn. So it can’t be security topics everyday…
@argo: KeyScrambler is able to defeat all keygenerators that I have tested because it installs a low level kernel driver. If you want a portable and free software, wait till I review Neo’s SafeKeys. By the way, I did not really force or persuade you to buy any software. The decision is ultimately yours and like I said I only share my experiences. I don’t earn a single cent if you are convinced to buy a software from a developer.
by the way:
raymond you persuaded me to buy just yesterday for the first time a software, furthermore a non-portable and not job-oriented one!!
Actually, I find this kind of review better than how to solve firefox problems. No offences but when you posted the firefox stuff, I just skip it. But this is another story. I make sure I read through everything.
I find Neo’s keysafe really interesting and well done, but in my opinion a little too slow when accessing to a lot of private data daily. More useful for travelling reasons with a download on the moment of use. Of course this is an opinion on the practical use of Neo and not on the security issues…so let’s wait for raymond opinion.
Raymond. Your review of keystroke encryption software is NOT overkill as it shows your concern for Internet safety for those of us who care VERY much about such matters.
I just feel so validated that I made the right choice in selecting KeyScrambler (Premium) about a month ago!
Continue sharing your knowledge. We will continue to support you in any way we can.
Raymond, Thank You (Again)

You forgot to do review about Prevx safeonline and Neo’s keysafe.
Thank you so much Raymond.
Hi raymond,
