If you think that clearing the browsing history such as temporary files, history, cookies, saved passwords and web form information is able to hide from what websites you have visited, then you are wrong. When you visit a website that uses flash technology, the Flash Player on your computer itself will store a database of the visited website. To be honest I never knew about this until I read zen67′s post in the forum and did a bit more research to understand how it works.
I think it is important for everyone to know about this because it doesn’t matter what web browser your use on the computer, it will be stored in Flash history cache. Logically clearing web browser’s cache should supposedly remove all traces but there are still some that lingers around, thanks to Adobe Flash. Even the famous CCleaner paired together with CCEnhancer fails to clear off flash history/cache. Here is how to view the flash history cache and also how to delete them off from your computer for privacy.
You can easily access the flash player’s website storage settings panel by right clicking on a flash app, for example at a youtube video, and select Global Settings. Your default browser will open with the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager page. On the left pane where it says Settings Manager, click on the Website Storage Settings panel link. The Website Storage Settings panel will open and you get to see a list of websites that you have visited which contains flash.

Alternatively, you can directly access it from the link below.
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html
Do note that ONLY websites that USES the flash technology will be save onto the Website Storage Settings panel. Other than protecting your privacy, this method can also be used to solve some flash problems such the black screen on YouTube videos when the flash cache got corrupted. Simply delete the website’s flash cache and you’re good to go.

I don’t think ccleaner failed at clearing flash cache.
Did you clear BOTH of browser and flash cache & cookies?
If not the particular site still remembers us because of browser cookies.

Thanks mr.Raymond!
Easy solutions:
Use “Wipe” or “Flash Cookie Cleaner” or “Flash Cookie Remover” or “Flash Cookies View” or “Flush flash” and be happy ! :)
For those who don’t want to deal with Flash management extensions in their browsers, these are the “Include” parameters I have in CCleaner (3.05.1408).
C:\Documents and Settings\user1\Application Data\Adobe\Flash Player\AssetCache\*.*
C:\Documents and Settings\user1\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\*.*
C:\Documents and Settings\user1\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\*.*
I use XP; the paths might differ for Vista and 7.
One at a time, use CCleaner’s Include tool in Options and select each folder as shown above for the “Drive or Folder” and select “All Files” and “Include Files and Subfolders” in the Options pull-down.
Then in the Advanced list enable “Custom Files and Folder” under the Windows tab in Cleaner.
Cheers.
Nice one Raymond ! Thank you.

well Ive tried 3 different browsers IE9,Firefox and google chrome and all show a blank space where the panel is suppose to be so Im unable to get to any settings for flash. Yes I have the latest flash installed. Any suggestions or is this an april fool gag?
@wahbasah: I hope you’ve read the whole article because I am pretty sure I mentioned that CCleaner does not clear flash player’s history cache.
Yes, I concur w previous poster.
Since cCleaner doesn’t take care of that, BetterPrivacy flushes the LSOs when one closes FF.
Also have Ghostery & NoScript installed.
Though I didn’t know about Taco – will investigate. Thanks!
Peace
just use ccleaner
Just use Firefox with Better Privacy.
Throw in Ghostery and Taco with Abine for good measure.
Thanks for the tip.
great tip ray :D thank you!
