Didn’t know about these removal programs. I used Windows Search to look for the worm, deleted it, and looked for all other files with the same filesize, and painstakingly reviewed each one. And don’t get me started on the registry.

Now, the computer’s running fine, but there are still some surgical scars here and there from my relentless deleting :)

i have had the stupid brontok virus for about 2 years and i hate it because it shuts down my work and it takes a good 20 time for me to turn it back on till the moment that it works. i have this one thing in my computer that is called a debug that i believe blocks the stupid brontol virus but not for long. how do i get rid of it for good.

please help :(

Well if u want to “kill” it, just make a new profile (because it’s in the “local” folder) and delete your old (ofc save your things ,but then let the os. to remove the old profile completely), it’s recomended to restore the registry ,then you can acces to “folder options”… again.

This can “kill” 99% of the viruses which aren’t in the windows folder.

the easiest would probably to download windows essentials and itll take less then 10 minutes to download and get rid of the brontok virus.
