Ah Internet Explorer, probably the most hated web browser for Firefox users. But no matter what, we still need them because it is a part of Windows and some functions depends on IE’s configuration. Once IE starts to go bonkers, you can expect some really weird problems appearing on your computer. Based on the web statistic software for this website, IE has always been the highest percentage being used to access this site but for the past few months, I am actually seeing Firefox overtaking Internet Explorer by a few percent. Although it’s not much, but it is possible that Firefox will have a huge lead in future.
Anyway, I’ve posted about running multiple versions of Internet Explorer before but that only allows you to run from IE3 to IE6. Here is a complete collection that allows you to install and run IE version 1 to the latest IE8 final. Every version of IE is portable so you don’t need to worry if it will mess up your computer or not.
Internet Explorer Collection contains multiple IE versions, which are standalone so they can be used at the same time. Conditional Comments work exactly the same as in the native versions. The original version number is shown correctly in the User Agent string. The version number can be found in the window title too.

Internet Explorer Collection also includes the Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar 1.00.2188.0. This Explorer Bar provides a variety of tools which make troubleshooting websites easier. The Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar is compatible with Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher when using Windows 2000 or higher.
Internet Explorer Collection contains the following versions of IE:
Internet Explorer 1.0 (4.40.308) Internet Explorer 1.5 (0.1.0.10) Internet Explorer 2.01 (2.01.046) Internet Explorer 3.0 (3.0.1152) Internet Explorer 4.01 (4.72.3110.0) Internet Explorer 5.01 (5.00.3314.2100) Internet Explorer 5.5 (5.51.4807.2300) Internet Explorer 6.0 (6.00.2800.1106) Internet Explorer 6.0 (6.00.2900.2180) Internet Explorer 7.0 (7.00.5730.13) Internet Explorer 8.0 (8.00.6001.18702)

If you’re using Windows XP/Vista/7 32-bit, you can use all versions in the collection except IE v1.0.

Thanks for the info Hellnoire… and Raymond of course !
For those that might ask the use of this, look at web designers. Yes, most people don\’t use the early IEs, but some people still use IE6,7 and 8. This is great for me because then I can actually finished my web design courses, then go into the special networking program they are offering at my school.
I’m also wondering what the point of this is…
Why exactly would you need to install ALL versions of a software?
