My problem, and I suspect many others, diverges from your explanations at your very first sentence "you have SATA hard drive and you have RAID/SATA mode configured in BIOS". I have a HP xw6400, which supports SAS, and has a SAS hard drive connected to a "LSI SAS3041e-HP" card. I am trying to install XP, which does not support SAS. I have no problem with SATA drives, and drivers for the LSI card are readily available, from the HP website and elsewhere. The problem is in trying to load drivers when XP says you have no hard drive, and cannot continue loading.
