A new Internet Explorer beta shows that Microsoft is trying to put its browser security woes behind it.

The software maker plans to release the third and last beta version of IE 7 on Thursday, getting closer to final delivery by the end of 2006. It will be the first major update to the popular Web browser in five years, and much of the focus for the new version is on security.
“Security was the No. 1 investment we made in IE 7, in terms of our development resources,” Tony Chor, Microsoft’s group program manager for the browser, said in an interview.
Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 includes advancements in security and browsing experience for end users, functionality and compatibility for developers, and manageability for corporate network administrators. Beta 3 is intended to enable developers, web developers, and IT professionals to begin to test the new browser for compatibility with their applications and websites.
Download Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 Build 7.0.5450.4 for:
• XP SP2
• Server 2003 SP1
• x64
• ia64
Installing Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 Build 7.0.5450.4 requires Windows Genuine Validation. If you’ve cracked your Windows Genuine Advantage Validation (WGA), most probably you can just download and install Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 Build 7.0.5450.4 without problems.
IF you have not cracked or installed Windows Genuine Advantage Validation (WGA), crackers again have thought of a way to install Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 Build 7.0.5450.4 without validating your Windows simply by replacing a dll file called iecustom.dll.
The steps below shows you how you do it.
1. Download Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 Build 7.0.5450.4 from the link give above.
2. Use your mouse to right click on the IE7BETA3-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe file and extract to a folder. I use PowerArchiver.

3. Now you should get a folder called IE7BETA3-WindowsXP-x86-enu.

4. Download cracked iecustom.dll
5. Extract the downloaded iecustom.rar and you will get iecustom.dll
6. Copy iecustom.dll to update folder located INSIDE IE7BETA3-WindowsXP-x86-enu folder. It will prompt you if you want to replace the existing iecustom.dll file. Click on Yes button.

7. Inside update folder, you should see a file called update.exe. Run update.exe to install Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 Build 7.0.5450.4

8. Follow the instructions shown on screen to install Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 Build 7.0.5450.4. Restart when complete installation.

Tips: Don’t have the tabs, RSS feeds, menus? After restart, run xmllitesetup.exe from the update folder and you’ll get the tabs, rss feeds and menus like the screenshot below.

Enjoy the new look and final release of Internet Explorer 7 Beta :D

I got the same “access denied” error during IE7 install but found the solution. Reset the year on your computer to 2005 and the Registry Diagnostic Tool will run. Then you will be able to see in the log file the registry key that needs its permissions adjusted in order for the IE7 install to complete. In my case, it was the registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.application with “ACL too tight.” Then run regedit, highliight the key, right click and make sure under Permissions that Administators and System have Read and Full Control permissions checked. Apply the changes. and reboot. IE7 will then install without the access error.
I followed your instructions as above, however when i restarted my computer and the desktop began to load I got a message which said something alongs the line of Explorer.exe could not load.
When i downloaded the patch there was two files in the zip file iecustom.dll and some other file, which to be honest I cannot recall, im sure it was another dll file. I am having to use my work computer to post this as I cannot do anything with my home computer.
After following your instructions I left the 2nd file on the desktop. restarted the computer logged into profile and when I did the wallpaper loaded but nothing else and then the explorer.exe could not load (due to the 2nd file being missing). I know this is really vague but bear with me.
I restarted the computer in safe mode to see if I could delete the files or restore the computer but I get the same error message, also restarted the computer to last known good configuration but again I got the same message.
I am therefore trying to use the restore point function but have no idea how i can do that without going through the desktop.
Can anyone help me please????? dont want to have reinstall everything on the computer, any suggestions are most welcome

After patching the iecustom.dll file, I have tried to install IE7b3 several times and I keep getting “Access is denied” error. I have seen many forums with people commenting that they are receiving this but no solutions. I have made sure that IE7b3 was uninstalled. Shutdown all my plugins for IE6. Closed all programs. Disabled antivirus. I removed the msn plugin from Trillian. And I even tried to install it in Safe Mode. Nothing works. If anyone has any ideas it would be great. I have attached the log below.

Well,
I guess its not so much about the percentage of people who are using it but to given an old software a facelift. I mean with Windows Vista being on the verge of release and microsoft claiming to do radical changes to Windows Vista its only fair to assume that they would make a few changes to Internet Explorer too as its been a part of Windows OS family for quite sometime now.
I would like to agree that on terms of features IE 7 does not offer anything new. But than again all FireFox lovers and Opera enthusiasts need to understand that the reaction time of IE 7 will always be lower than any other browser written for Windows OS. Why? Because half to IE7 ‘s components are Windows OS components too. IE7 is closely inegrated with the operating system. IE7 wirtually has no load up time when compared with FireFox or Opera. Given a fast enough system I guess Load up time will be negligible. But still the point is that it is faster. IE has never followed the standards. It has too much of a market dominance to have ever cared about following standards. But I miust admit the rendering engine does do a fine job. But I guess it always below par with Opera’s and Firefox’s rendering engine. But it does do a seemingly fast job.
Ever wonder how you could type URLs into Windows Explorer Address bar and it would still open up the page?
For those of you who have trouble using cracked IE7 I have a suggestion. Stop cracking it. Instead get yourself one of the Windows XP + SP2 Student editions. It has no activation and has a VLK serial number. So you can even register your copy with microsoft ( LOL thats what I did). Its has none of the WGA and WPA problems and comes with SP2. I am sure the torrent networks and P2P will have a copy. You can install all of Microsoft’s software without any hassle.

I had tested IE7 beta 3 three times on my system and learned a bug could still be unsolved. I believe it either IE7 or MP11. * When user restarts or shut down the computer, the screen message comes up showing one or more program not responsing even when they were already closed earlier and force user to shut it down before system can restart normally. This was a repeat problem when I reinstalled IE7 from my restored hard drive image backup which was saved with IE6/MP10. Test it on your system to see if it does the simular problem. It does not do with all programs but few. You can test it using task manager process tab by making sure any program you already closed must not show on list.
This guy who cracked it is a genius
New Internet Explorer beta 3 is great, I have to say, but there is a little bug on my system: When I try to open the CD rom drive from the Explorer all icons including folders, images, applications etc. are placed behind the icon of Internet explorer. I beleave there’s more of you with the same problem because the problem came after I formated the hard drive and installed the IE on a completely clean Windows XP SP 2. And if anyone knows the solution please post it!!!
Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 – No validation install…
I have to give it to the developers at Internet Explorer, they sure seem to be getting their act together after years of lolligagging . Below is a link to instructions on how to get Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 runnning on a system with questionable val…
Gut
I have this problem too… Crash Every second…
I’ve tried to use IE7beta3 with that old cracked iecustom.dll. Problem is only it crashes. I’ve figured out after a while that it’s because the tabs and ieframe.dll. If I disable the frames though, it works fine. (But then I could just go back to IE6.)
So my question is: did aynone have this problem, too? And what could be done here?
dudes are you stupid?
Just because you guys are using FF or Opera doesn’t mean everyone else is. Over 80% of people use IE, so why not give them an update?
Think about it before trying to act like tech gurus
Agree that IE7 does look like Opera
and i didnot like IE7
i am using Maxthon.
Agree that IE7 does look like Opera.
I only use Mozilla Firefox. However, looking at the web statistics, there are still a lot of Internet Explorer users.
No offence to IE but they’re didn’t really release something that’s worth trying also. I mean look at the features included, arent we already using them in the likes of Firefox or Opera? To me, IE 7 looks just like Opera (except maybe the name). So why even bother testing? Oh, they’re not really following the proper web standards too or at least, very slow in improving itself.
