  Yea… this aint gonna work, our problems lie somwhere else – start asking other sources, this seems to be the answer for every error code… to re register the dll library.. or sytem clock.. or clear history. Its somthing on there side dealing with the accounts. i personaly dont think ms cares…?

  ich habe auch ein problem ich kann mich nicht in msn anmelden es kommt immer problem beheben aber es gibt keine probleme auser dieses problem 80048820 ich habe schon fast alles ausprobiert z.b neue msn messager downloaden aber ich komme nicht weiter wenn sie mir helfen würden ,würde ich mich sehr freuen !! ich warte in der kürzesten zeit eine antwort !!ich bedanke mich jetzt schon bei ihnen !!

  i have problems with downloading the new msn messanger version …… when i made the 7.5 version download it\’s ask me to download the new version and when i made that my pc didn\’t accept that . so what i has to do ?

  I downloaded the 7.5.0322 patch on my desktop, no problems! However I tried it on my laptop and it crashed it, and MSN Messenger would not open at all! I have now reverted, after some considerable troubles to the 7.5.0311 version which I have found to be trouble free, so far!!!!!

  I was looking for information on the 80048820 error and this forum came up near the top on my Google search.

  If you have trouble with MSN and it gives the 80048820 error message, check your MTU settings on your broadband and/or wireless router.

  I found that the settings on my wireless router were different to those on my DSL router. Once I set both to the same then Messenger started working.

  I can only presume that older versions of Messenger were more tollerent of incorrect MTU settings.

  I hope this helps, if it does, please take a moment to post this answer to any tech support sites that you may have asked for help on.

  this helped me . the date on my comp was wrong .after i fixed the date .messenger worked again,hope it helps .

  Thanks, MSN Messenger works (for now) without error 80048820. It’s only in englisch and not in dutch..but that’s not a huge problem.
