I have one of my best friend who went to Australia to work last year. His wife is still in Malaysia and most of the time they communicate through phone or in cybercafe for video chat. When I am lucky to catch him online, normally I only get to talk to him for a while because most of the time he’ll be talking to his wife. We’re all using Windows Live Messenger and there is no way to do multi video conferencing using Video Call.
As for Skype, the popular video call software also doesn’t support multiple video conferencing. There used to be a plugin called vskype or festoon which allows skype to do multiple video conferencing but the official website is no longer available. Maybe the project is dead? Next is SightSpeed. It is able to do 4 way video conferencing with the PLUS version at a price of 9.95 per month.
While I was surfing the internet just now, I stumbled on an instant messenger called ooVoo that is able to support multiple (up to 6) video conferencing. Not only that, now you can call anyone in USA and Canada for FREE!

I know Skype is very popular but ooVoo BETA looks promising. If you didn’t notice, Skype is mostly in white color and ooVoo is mostly in black. What I like about ooVoo is the main interface looks very similar to Windows Live Messenger which makes you feel like you already know how to use it. There is also a very useful record video call feature built in to ooVoo which Skype doesn’t have. Currently ooVoo offers FREE phone calls to the USA and Canada which will be available through March 1, 2008. I’ve just tried calling my webhost, WebhostingBuzz, and it got through!

the name of the pot says “multi videoconferencing with oovoo for free”, but as I was looking for that thing exactly discovered that you have to pay for it, so it is not for free at all…. Who cares about the 30 days trial..
I downloaded and installed ooVoo but when i get to the part for creating an account i run into trouble. I fill out all the info i need but after its created it keeps saying “Sorry, due to a communication problem ooVoo could not create your account.” Can anyone help me fix this problem?

Well, ooVoo works allright, but only the 2-way video conferencing is free (you know, the one you can get anyways from Google videochat, MSN, Skype, yahoo etc …). If you want 3-way video, you’ll have to fork our $7.95 per month. Want 4-way video? $12.95 per month thanks. 6-way video? Yup, we can do, thanks for the money …

I also downloaded Skype, in hopes that “video conferencing” included mulitple videos going at the same time. Unfortunately, Skype doesn’t support this type of video calling, so I searched for a while and discovered ooVoo. This program allows for up to 6 videos going at the same time, in which you can all speak to one another. What it doesn’t tell you however, is what has already been posted above once or twice; after the first month, 3-way conferencing will cost $7.95/month, 4-way conferencing will cost $12.95/month, and 6-way conferencing will cost $17.95/month. But for the first 30 days at least, you can have free with up to six people I believe. YES>>>if anyone can discover a site that allows FREE 3-way video conferencing, PLEASE POST IT! Thanks :)

Just found this post and I did find this site on my own the other night. I was THRILLED to find a FREE 3 way webcam conversation. I sat with two friends and now I just read it all over and there is a fee involved after 30 days it will cost $7.95 a month to do the three way I really can’t find ANY FREE sites to support three way webcams. If anyone knows of one could you please email me it would be greatly appreciated.

With Skype once the third person logs in, the video gets cut off and we can only have audio and chat sessions.

hello i have used ooVoo for about a half a year, and i love it!!! the things that i like about this program are good quality af audio and video, in almost never has any glitches or breaks. it takes much less RAM space and is much more effeciant than “Skype”. But the only thing i would like to know about this new version of ooVoo 1.5 isthe free calling. Is it going to be free for the reciver of the person that got the cal.. or is it going to be free for both sides???
The program looks cool……But what’s the point of installing it if you have Skype….?
