Once in a while I have a friend, or customer that needs to keep people from using the USB ports to copy data off of a system.

It is easy to lock a machine down, disable the floppy, and cdrom in the bios. Many times when you try to disable USB – it disables it entirely.

This can be a real pain on newer laptops or systems that don’t even have a PS2 interface for the mouse or keyboard.

There is a simple registry change that will keep the USB storage drivers from starting when the system boots. Keeps people from walking up to a PC and copying data off with a USB key, but allows you to keep your scanner, keyboard, and mouse working.

Few days ago Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.3 installer was found on their FTP but they have not announced it on their website yet.
Today, Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.3 is oficially released and it contains only 1 but very important security fix for denial of service vulnerability.

Description
Martijn Wargers and Nick Mott each described crashes that were discovered to ultimately stem from the same root cause: attempting to use a deleted controller context when designMode was turned on. This generally results in crashing the browser, but in theory references to deleted objects can be abused to run malicious code.
“splices” reported the same crash at the fan site MozillaZine and on Bugtraq, incorrectly describing it as a buffer overflow.
Older clients, including Firefox 1.0.x and the Mozilla Suite 1.7.x, are not affected.

Workaround
Temporarily disable JavaScript until you can upgrade to a fixed version. (Now you have a fixed version, so you don’t need to temporarily disable JavaScript.)

I bet many of you know what WinZip is because it has been around since I started using the computer nearly 10 years ago.

After BitComet announced their new version 0.65 two days ago, today they have a new version that is v0.66.

This usually happen when the author of a software missed a serious bug and had to quickly fix it and re-release a new version as soon as possible. What happened to their Beta testers?

As I previously mentioned that I’ve finally managed to integrate link exchange manager LinkMan into my WordPress.
I’ve also seen some post on forums asking for help on how to integrate the link exchange manager LinkMan php code into WordPress in order to automatically update the links added at their WordPress Pages whenever someone submit their links.
After weeks of trying and asking for help, I’ve finally did it and I will now show you exactly how I did it.

To get Yahoo Mail Beta, just switch your content preference to Germany, France or UK. Then you will be asked if you want to join the beta when you log into your Yahoo Mail. Say yes, and join the beta. Then from the options menu, change your content preference what it was before. Then go to Yahoo Mail again. You should see Yahoo Beta. If you don’t see it, go to options and click “Try Beta” button. That’s all.
