isPermaLink="false">http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2007/09/30/repair-and-fix-corrupted-images/#comment-427609

I needed to recover the files my ten years old daughter had inadvertently deleted from the digital camera we recently offered her, so I first tried the software you suggested in your previous article.It worked fine, but she had unknowingly taken another dozen of pictures since, and I found that all the pictures recovered by the software were corrupted, so I moved on to this article.I downloaded the pixrecovery demo, but its efforts did not look promising. The preview of the first file I tried was as corrupted as the original file, but the software seemed to think that it was ok.After a bit of searching, I tried Photorescue Expert. It is slightly different, because apprently you can use it only on the card itself (unless I've missed something during the little time I spent using it).Anyway, it only cost 29$ and it recovered almost all the pictures.In a way, it combines the solutions to the problems raised in both articles. I'm not sure you'd be able to use it to recover a corrupted file on your hard disk, but if the problem is with your card, you may give this a shot.As I understand it, the demo will show thumbnails of the files as they will look once recovered (not based on the thumbnail that is always readily stored in the header of the jpeg itself, and which is almost always ok, so it doesn't give you a clue). I went on to purchase it only after verifying that the thumbnails looked fine, and I would advise anyone to do the same test before buying the product (your problems might be different from those I had).There, I thought this feedback might be useful to you or your readers.

I needed to recover the files my ten years old daughter had inadvertently deleted from the digital camera we recently offered her, so I first tried the software you suggested in your previous article.

It worked fine, but she had unknowingly taken another dozen of pictures since, and I found that all the pictures recovered by the software were corrupted, so I moved on to this article.

I downloaded the pixrecovery demo, but its efforts did not look promising.
