Restore Show Desktop Icon to Quick Launch on Taskbar

I’ve got a friend asking me how to restore the “Show Desktop” icon back to quick launch on taskbar if accidentally deleted?
Recreate Show Desktop icon on Windows XP
I really have no idea how to do it at first other than copying the “Show Desktop” icon from another computer. It works! But what if you do not have another computer with you that time? Here’s how you can MANUALLY create the “Show Desktop” icon.


Open Notepad and enter the following text:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the new file as Show Desktop.scf then drag and drop the icon on the Quick Launch bar or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear.

Easy isn’t it?

      Another easy thing is press control+alt+del and run a new process called explorer.exe

      this does the trick..but all the icons in the quick launch bar are shortcuts so you cannot delete it from your desktop. Drag it to somewhere like C:\Windows\ and send the shortcut there.

      Más fácil aún… Hacer click en Inicio > Ejecutar y pegar la siguente linea: regsvr32 /n /i:U shell32 y Aceptar. Luego reiniciar windows y al reiniciar estará el ícono en la barra de inicio rápido

      go to RUN,
      type regsvr32 /n /i:U shell32
      and press enter. Icon will appear.

      David, sabes tu dato vale callanpa, no sabes nada, al contrario me dejaste otros problemas
      yo no se mucho, pero creo que moderadores u otros mienbros que postean ayuda, debieran corregir torpezas como la tuya y la de otros que adan por ahi.

      Melhor é comprar um MAC com o lindo OSX onde tudo se activa e desactiva com botões em vez de andar a escrever linhas de código em editores de texto
