Did you know when buying items and services online there are often great discounts readily available? During the payment process many online stores will have a field to enter a coupon or promotion code. Entering a special code will give you a discounted rate or free extras. Unless you know the coupon or promotion code, you are going to pay the full price while the people who knows them gets a discounted rate or free gifts.
From the creators of BugMeNot, they have another website where everyone can share discount coupons they know so that you can shop online and save money. Some coupon codes offers a percentage of discount, some with free shipping and some offer free gifts.
RetailMeNot.com, a website that currently has are more than 25,000 coupon codes for thousands of online stores. Some of the popular ones are Vitoria Secrets, PayPal and Amazon. RetailMeNot has discount codes for all those online stores! Isn’t it great to buy something at a cheaper price?
Searching for discount codes is very easy. Just visit RetailMeNot’s website, enter the address of the online store such as amazon.com at the box and click on the Search button.
It will display all the available discount codes submitted by users, together with the description of what the code gives and also the success rate. Usually online stores change their coupon codes from time to time. So the older submitted coupon codes in RetailMeNot has lesser percentage of success rate. RetailMeNot doesn’t reveal out the dates of when was the coupon code added and I think it’d be better to include this information.
Other than typing the online store URL at the search box, you can also search for keywords. Let’s say you want to buy shoes, just type the word shoes at the search box and click Search. The next page will suggest online stores that sells shoes and has discount codes to use with it.
There’s a RetailMeNot firefox extension for Firefox users. I find it not very useful because not many of us really shop online all the time. The add-on will update an internal database once per week from retailmenot.com no matter you use it frequently or not. If it’s not something that we use very often, I’d advice not to use this plugin.
