The first thing I learn about fixing computer is how to format my hard drive and reinstall a clean copy of Windows. When I know how to reinstall Windows, I can fully mess around with the system, get it corrupted and then try to fix it back. When I couldn’t fix it, the ultimate solution is to reinstall Windows which will definitely get my system back to a working state.
Although Windows Vista is out for many months and Microsoft plans to retire Windows XP early, it’s never too late to learn how to install Windows XP since Vista installation is pretty similar to XP setup. However, for a computer beginner to learn how to reinstall Windows is no easy task unless there is someone willing to guide and teach them.
The safest way to learn how to setup or install Windows XP is by using simulation first. Once you’ve got used to it, then you can perform the real Windows installation on your computer.
Windows XP Setup Simulator is a program that teaches you how to install Windows XP, without having to worry you will mess up your hardware or software.

It just simulates installing Windows XP as if it was the real setup. It reproduces every step exactly as it is in the real setup, and it does not restart your computer. This program can also be used as a guide for learning how to install Windows 2003 and Vista, because the steps are very similar. The package also includes an e-book that explains every step of the Windows XP Setup and some other Windows XP Basics. You can also find the simulation with every step explained in several languages.
Once downloaded the Windows XP Setup Simulator from the link below, extract it and you will find a few files in the folder. Windows Xp Setup.exe is the Windows XP setup simulation and Tutorial.exe is like an ebook that teaches you about the basics of Windows XP.

Wow. Good for newbies. I still remember the days when I install my first Windows98 machine. A little bit daunting will dial up Internet connections at that time.
Danke auch an DEMO, ein geiles TV-Programm (NRW-TV). So lerne ich XP zu installieren und vieles mehr ;)
I dunno if this is so useful, surely this program can\\\’t simulate the core problems that may occur in a real installation. Like boot problems or probs with the HD. A good simulation simulates on every level and takes in ALL factors, but this just runs on the software level.
Raymond gives you everythin\’ to keep your computer rockin\’….Cheers
I\’ve never knew how to format a pc before, but now I know. Hopefully, I wont need to this skill anytime soon….
THANKS RAY!
Thanks a lot mate. BTW it would be nice if you started helping your readers on issues like how to remove viruses manually.. had recently been attacked by the `amvo\’ virus and had a tough time removing the same, but managed it. Thanks again for this share :)

Yeah it’s a good guide for individual. If you’re a computer teacher, you can also let your students install Windows XP via simulation.
I can’t exactly remember how I found this but I accidentally stumbled on it.
