It is nearly impossible to maintain Windows speed and stability even for computer experts after using it for months/years and installing a lot of useless software. Just take Windows registry for an example. It is a huge database and whenever we install a software and later uninstall it, there will definitely be some entries left over. There are other factors that causes slowdown and we don’t even know about it. Previously I’ve shared with you on how to get the full version of Fix-It Utilities 7 Professional but it is a little outdated to tune up your computer system.

The Startup Manager is also very useful because it is able to automatically determine if the startup item is dangerous or not based on Sysinfo.org database. It also has the ability to protect your computer against spyware and adware. Just check Spyware Removal and it will scan and remove any spyware/adware found on your computer. Other than that, it can also prevent spyware from being installed in your PC through immunization (like what SpyBot does).

The comparison test on PC performance and health between its competitors shows that the Professional version of Advanced WindowsCare scored the highest with 97 and the Personal edition takes the second place…

I am quite surprised to see that even the free version of Advanced WindowsCare can beat TuneUp Utilities, System Mechanic, Norton 360, Registry Mechanic and etc. Well, most of Advanced WindowsCare competitors has gone through a major update so we don’t know which is the best now.       It was wrong for them to include C Cleaner in comparison. It’s just a clean-up utility. And those images ‘before’ and ‘after’ were cool – I can use it somewhere else.

      The comparison test apparently was done by IOBit, the people who made WindowsCare. Not exactly an independent test.

      I\’d been using the free AWC-Personal from the beginning (0.9+ beta or so a few years back), until iOBIT came out with the subscription-based Pro which carried on its full functionality. So I moved forward to the more powerful as well as esthetic-looking AWC3 betas, which I\’ve since been using … until today.

      Now I\’m back to AWC2 which, of course, is the Pro version!

      One thing I can say is that iOBIT has always been very careful with regards to the stability and integrity of their public beta releases. In all likelihood, they\’re giving away this (apparently non-expiring?) AWC2 Pro as iOBIT is setting the stage — so to say — to roll out AWC3 Pro.

      Be careful when selecting “Top Performance” setting. It wipe out all my custom made Samurize skins and make FileHamster (a content versioning backup program) can’t start.

      I didn’t backup the skins and can’t undelete them! (using Recuva, Undelete Plus & NTFS Undelete).

      Duh!

      We have 5 computers on a home network. I put it on all five and it activated on 4 no problem but I have one newer computer that keeps recognizing my name where I had subscribed a previous year and expired in April. I three times removed every trace of it with Revo Uninstaller and made sure even the folder was removed, then restarted and installed. Same every time. I am stumped on that one! Any ideas? Still, I am happy to have to full version on the other 4 computers. Thanks Raymond!

      AWC 3b RC 3

      Yesterday I updated to RC 3 of AWC/ASC 3b. This time I was prompted whether to upgrade my existing AWC 2 “PRO” account. (It automatically got carried over to 3b RC 2 — #59 above.)

      I clicked “YES”, and immediately got the reply that the license code was invalid. Now my AWC/ASC 3 Pro has been reverted to the freeware version.

      With many refinements, it looks like RC 3 is going to come out anytime as the final release.

      Advanced Windows Care 3 RC3 Pro afrer RC2 no longer free edition, today is two releases, Free – very limited functionality and Pro from now cost 19.95. Chip.de serial do not work with this version.

      v3x does not work with name and code in the v2 article.
