Hack YouTube VideosI’m not sure if you’ve experienced this problem before or not but I assure you I have. Sometimes I am able to view videos from YouTube without problems but sometimes the videos in YouTube would freeze and stops there. I even tried stopping any Internet activity so that the whole 1Mb download connection is reserved for viewing videos on YouTube. Still the same problem… I even tried different web browser and the streaming is still terrible!

Thankfully I found a very good accelerator tool that is able to help stream YouTube faster and smoother by reducing buffering problems and video interruptions or “hiccups”. It works on YouTube.com, myspace.com or any other web page with an embedded YouTube video inside.


SpeedBit Video Accelerator is able to reduce YouTube ‘movie freezes’ and ‘buffering’ problems as well as accelerates embedded YouTube videos around the web (MySpace.com, Blogger etc…) It includes extra features such as a cool search feature for finding videos around the web right from your desktop and also automatically bookmarking videos that you’ve accelerated for easy replays.
Fix YouTube buffering problem

Totally no configuration needed. Just download, install and run SpeedBit Video Accelerator. You’ll see a small icon on your traybar meaning that the acceleration service is running. Once you visit any of the YouTube videos link, it’ll start accelerating.
Speed up streaming videos

With SpeedBit Video Accelerator installed, your browser’s connection to specific streaming video server is being rerouted through the Video Accelerator Daemon. Unlike the normal browser connection, the Daemon uses a unique patent pending technology, that substitutes the single connection with a sophisticated multi-connection algorithm. The end result is an (up to) 5 times faster connection, which handles the cache buffering (the “preloading” of the movie) much more efficiently. See diagram below for easier understanding.
Accelerate online video

Although the software name sounded like it supported any streaming videos, but it doesn’t. I just tried on Google Videos and there’s no activity on the SpeedBit Video Accelerator. I guess it will only support YouTube for the time being. The official website states “Speeding up YouTube is only the beginning – More video services coming soon!” Can’t wait because I love this program. Never had anymore problems in viewing YouTube videos after installed this wonderful FREE software.

      Hah! This program was so cool! I was skeptical at first, but when I tried it I laughed cos it was so funny seeing it work. How can I explain it… before my youtube videos loaded like this: Small part, slow, small part. Now they load like this: small part, HUGE PART (a big bit is downloaded in miliseconds), small part… if you get what I mean.

      Note: In firefox the accelerator does not work if you are viewing the video in a tab, you have to open a new firefox window

      I was looking ta their site today and they’ve just released a new version that supports i think over 60 sites (youtube of course) but also 5min is new and few others.
      So far, no probs with FF or IE and youtube videos were as smooth as a dream – so thanks for fixing that speedbit!

      This is a great idea for a program. I have tried it, and unfortunately it just does not work for me.

      The program proclaims “Now Accelerating”, but the Facebook and YouTube video sputters and stutters just as if I don’t have the accelerator installed–sometimes even worse.

      Hah, I think those of you who claim to see an improvement using this tool are suffering from the placebo effect.

      Firstly, just because they use technical terms like daemons and multi-connection algorithms doesn\’t mean jack. Yes, as a Unix user I do know what a daemon is , and yes as an IT professional for more than 10 years I do understand about networking.

      Ignore their marketing hyperbole for just one second, and let\’s consider the facts. By adding an additional layer – either at the network layer, e.g. proxying through this company\’s servers, or locally via software, e.g. an application installed on my machine – how exactly am I going to increase my bandwidth? Simple answer – I can\’t!

      Let\’s assume that my internet connection is, for argument\’s sake, 1MBit. If I don\’t use their application then I connect via my browser to You Tube and download a video… I have one connection open, using one socket so there is a minimal amount of overhead involved. If, however, I use their application, with it\’s multiple connections, then I now have multiple connections established – each one requiring it\’s own socket, each one involving overheads (TCP headers require a large overhead alone), and the CPU is going to have to dedicate resources to assembling the fragmented data. My bandwidth is still the same – 1MBit – but I\’m using up more of it on the additional overheads involved in using TCP/IP as opposed to downloading the packets of data I\’m really interested in, therefore my data will take longer (because less of my 1MBit line is available due to those pesky overheads) and I will have to wait longer.

      Similarly, if their application is essentially just a proxy, then adding an additional step to the route from You Tube\’s server to my PC is unlikely to improve anything. The only way this would work would be if the leg from the company\’s servers could be routed quicker than the equivalent leg from You Tube\’s servers to my PC. Given that you\’re adding complexity to the path – you\’re flying from NY to LA via Dallas instead of flying direct – then this is extremely unlikely to happen. Additionally, you have to factor in that the company would need to process the traffic en route to ensure it was being forwarded on to the right user – this would add some lag to the journey thereby negating any benefit you may potentially have got from the hop between the company and yourself being shorter than the hop between You Tube and your PC.

      Therefore, I conclude that this tool is useless, and it\’s only listed because you\’re getting a referral from each click users make (and your referral ID is 7279).

      I love this software! And few days back it’s able to stream like any video on any websites, but since last 2 days it stopped. I still can watch Youtube videos pretty fast, but I can’t seems to load Series faster from other websites, which can worked smoothly few weeks back. Any ideas? I’ve uninstal and re-installed it again, but same thing.
