First things first. The new Ad-Aware 2007 file size is HUGE compared to the previous version. It is 17.1MB in size!
When I tried installing Ad-Aware 2007 on my laptop, I got the error message “Fatal Error: Installation ended prematurely because of an error.”
At first I thought that the setup file was corrupted. I tried downloading again from download.com and still got the same error. Finally I tried downloading from a different source which is Softpedia and when I tried to install again, same error message appear. I suspect that the problem is on my computer and not the aaw2007.exe setup file. I copied the aaw2007.exe file to my desktop and it was able to install without any problems! I am still unable to find a solution to this problem. If it happened to me, it can happen to anyone. I will update once I found a solution to solve this installation problem.
The FREE version of Ad-Aware 2007 has the same restriction as Ad-Aware SE 1.06. You won’t be able to use extra tools such as Process Watch, Hosts File Editor, Ad-Watch Connect, Customized scans, Ad-Watch and Advanced command line support. Meaning the FREE Ad-Aware 2007 is only useful for scanning and cleaning spyware on a computer and you won’t be able to have real-time protection against spyware.
One thing I noticed about the new Ad-Aware 2007 is that I believe you can turn the Ad-Aware 2007 FREE version to Plus or Professional just by entering serial number and unlock key to the program. Previously, the Ad-Aware SE v1.06 don’t require any serial number. If you manage to find the retail Professional version of Ad-Aware, you can install it on any computer you want.
By the way, Ad-Aware 2007 only supports Windows 2000, 2003 and XP. Ad-Aware 2007 is not Vista ready. All valid licenses will be upgraded to the Vista compatible version for free upon release.

Don’t bother downloading exactly this version… Use the ‘old’ Pro version of the program until the 1st update is being published (which usually fixes thing that might now mess up your computer or annoying ones such as the error you receive). So just wait till the next program update and by that time you would also be having a KG to use te pro or plus version.
