Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool is Back with a Vengeance! Version 1.7.59.0

After months of no updates on the Windows Genuine Advantage Tool, looks like they are back with a new version! I got to know about this because I stumbled on the latest Windows Genuine Advantage Validation v1.7.59.0 CRACKED ETH0.

I immediately went to Microsoft Update but didn’t find any updates for Windows Genuine Advantage.

In the cracked archive, there is only 3 files. Cracked LegitCheckControl.dll, installer.bat for installing the cracked DLL and eth0.nfo which is their information file. Let’s see what is in the installer.bat batch file.


1. taskkill /IM wgatray.exe
- First it will try to end the wgatray.exe process using the taskkill command. For your information, taskkill command is not available for Windows XP Home edition. You might need to change the command from taskkill to tskill. You also need to exclude the .exe extension if you’re using the tskill command. If you don’t want to modify the batch file, you can copy the taskkill.exe from XP Professional system32 folder to your XP Home system32 folder.

2. del %systemroot%\system32\wgatray.exe.old
del %systemroot%\system32\wgalogon.dll.old
- If you’ve used ETH0 WGA crack before, you should have wgatray.exe.old and wgalogon.dll.old. ETH0 batch file always backup the original WGA files.

3. ren %systemroot%\system32\wgatray.exe wgatray.exe.old
ren %systemroot%\system32\wgalogon.dll wgalogon.dll.old
- Now the batch file will rename your current wgatray.exe and wgalogon.dll by adding a .old extension to the files.

4. del %systemroot%\system32\LegitCheckControl.dll
del %systemroot%\system32\wgatray.exe.old
del %systemroot%\system32\wgalogon.dll.old
- Deletes the original LegitCheckControl.dll and also the original backed up wgatray.exe and wgalogon.dll. I am not sure if step 3 is necessary because why not just delete the files straight away without renaming them?

5. copy LegitCheckControl.dll %systemroot%\system32\ /Y
- Copies the cracked LegitCheckControl.dll to your system32 folders. You are now allowed to doWindows will now allow Windows Update, Microsoft Download Center and Microsoft Update.

This crack is slightly different from the previous versions because it doesn’t include cracked wgatray.exe and wgalogon.dll. It even delete both of the files from your system. Maybe Microsoft has decided not to include the nags and popup anymore due to so many complaints? I decided to find out myself…

I HAVE a genuine Windows XP Professional. I deleted LegitCheckControl.dll, WGaTray.exe and WgaLogon.dll from my system. Then I went to Microsoft Update. I get the page that says “To use Microsoft Update, you must first install the latest version of some Windows components“. Yeah right, I know for sure it’s the Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool. I clicked on the “Download and Install Now” button and true enough, it says that it is downloading Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130).

Once it has finished downloading and installing the WGA tool, I went to Windows\system32 folder to search for WgaTray.exe, WgaLogon.dll and LegitCheckControl.dll. I can only find LegitCheckControl.dll but not WgaTray.exe and WgaLogon.dll. Looks like Microsoft has decided to remove their ridiculous nag popups after all.

UPDATE: A minor updated version of Windows Genuine Advantage v1.7.59.1 is released. Previously is v1.7.59.0. Link below is updated to WGA 1.7.59.1 ETH0 CRACKED.

      Seems like you don’t have LegitCheckControl.dll together with the installer.bat.

      hey ray, i got the same message as the guy above, but i manage to get the copying new files thing. the oni thing tht is copied is the legitcontrol.dll. still missing the WGaTray.exe and WgaLogon.dll. any way to solve this?? any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

      It seems the archive has already been deleted from 9down.
      It says, I do not have permission to download the file.

      It don’t matter if you get the message missing WGATray.exe and Wgalogon.dll. As long as LegitCheckControl.dll is being copied successfully, then you’re fine.

      That’s the problem Raymond…..The LegitCheckControl.dll is Not being copied successfully. Why? Any suggestions please.

      Netster,
      u’re not having the complete setup files. inside the setup file you should have the legitcontrol.dlll in order for the installer to copy it to your computer. i suggest u redownload it again and make sure there is legitcontrol.dll inside the folder before u begin installation

      It shows LegitCheckControl.dll in the folder..but when I double click on it,I get a pop up that says “WinZip encountered problems during this operation” I noticed it shows LegitCheckControl.dll modified 11/21/2006. Is that the problem?

      Netster, I kinda suspect that you run installer.bat right from winzip. Are you doing that?

      You must extract the archive to a new folder. Then go to the folder and run installer.bat.

      Why does the LegitCheckControl.dll in the download show a date of “LegitCheckControl.dll modified 11/21/2006″ ??? Maybe that’s the problem????

      D/l & Unzipped and ran the cracked WGAVT, the Version 1.7.59.0 LegitCheckControl.dll is in the System32 folder but when updating, I’m asked to validate Win XP Pro. It fails saying the VLK is blocked.

      Any ideas, many, many thanks.

      In answer to my above post. Ran the crack again, ran CCleaner (cookies/temp files etc) and rebooted.

      Just installed all 85 updates!

      eth0 rulez!!! I had a genuine WinXP Pro, but still couldn’t download any updates after formatting PC and reinstalling Windows. The problem is gone after the patch! 10x all!

      hey! thx it’s works fine, Im install a fresh copy of winxp sp1 and upgraded it using sp2 no missing dll, maybe try to upgrade and try to crack it again.. for missing dll files. gudluck .

      I TRIED THIS ON WIN XP PRO, ALTHOUGH THE INTERNET UPDATE WORKS.. BUT WHEN I TRIED TO INSTALL WINDOWS BIT DEFENDER, IT HAS DETECTED MY WINDOWS IS PIRATED!!!! :(

      Hey downloaded the file from 9down ( the link above is the same file also, also noticed some posts 9down does not have the file, the message came out when I was using DAP, I selected regular download the next try and was successful.) ran the installer.bat , It did’nt have any errors that I noticed, probably because I was able to download the windows WGA that kept me from downloading from windows update. and it worked without rebooting. I was able to get thru the wga download required page and check on the updates. Good job again Eth0!

      I was able to do a windowsupdate without any problem. But I keep getting a little nagger in the bottom right, telling me ‘Unable to complete genuine Windows validation’. Is there a way to shut this up?

      i downloaded and installed wgav 1.831.0. i can get internet updates but i cant install sp2 or above. I can download it from mirror patches but it keeps trying to validate. any suggestions ?
