To check the integrity of the hard drive,first try running the Error Checker-C:> Properties > Tools > Check Now --check both boxes > Start > restart and hopefully the program will run.Allow it to conclude,and it should reboot Windows automatically.Now check your logs for a disc report.If you have the original install disc,you can use Repair console to "fixboot C:" or "fixmbr" (no quotes) and ignore the message about the partition-it's an acknowledged MS bug.By entering no parameter(after fixmbr) the repair will be affected to drive you are logged onto.How many programs are set to run at boot?Check msconfig-kill everything you don't need.Have you taken the cover off that thing-ever?? Dust causes heat-heat is not your friend and can be a big contributor to your problem.Get a soft brush and some canned air,one of those silly Michael Jackson masks, and go outside.Ignore your neighbors and proceed.
