World going to end???????

Hello,
yesterday while surfing the tv a news cahnnel caught my eyes on it. It said that scientists are making a mega machine, 100 mtr.s under the earth and 32 km long in a tunnel in geneva. they are making this to reveal the truth of the universe, for knowing how the universe was made. it said that it costs some thing like 8000000000 us$ It said that if its a success, we would be able to solve the mystery of the universe. and if its not, It may produce mini black holes inside the earth which would swallow up the whole earth. And these people are going to test it on the 10 of septembet 6 days from now.
Some countries are against this and they went to the court to fight against this. but if the govt. gives permission and if anything goes wrong, then its certain that that will be the end of this beautiful earth. Pray to god that this shuld not happen and the govt. shd not give permission to this.

I also saw that program, to measure there degree of stupidity. Lolz, you acccept the claims made by India tv? :lol: Common, media in India nowadays doesn't care in providing true information. They just want attention of mass number of people for sponsors. I read a lot science articles daily and visit science websites regularly. Yes they are carrying out an experiment underground of Geneva, but it is not at all deadly as mentioned on tv. You CANNOT create blackholes by colliding some random atomic particles! You need to have massive stars (even bigger than the Sun) to create black holes. So next time never trust them, their most of the news is fake.

Don't worry, nothing is going to happen. We are not going to be sucked into any sort of black hole. Don't be frightened... this is just a myth started by a bunch of people that missed physics.

Don't be said... be happy! The machine that will create these micro black holes won't suck us up because they are of VERY low mass... only a couple hundred protons. Black holes don't have an infinite amount of gravitational pull... it is dependent on their mass. The lower the mass, the lower the gravity.

The LHC (which is the machine you're talking about) is going to give us answers to lingering questions in the world of physics, which is good.

This news spread by India TV is completely rubbish. I don't know why but India TV these days is showing only Bullshit.. India TV sucks. Don't believe on them

Yes what utkarsh says is right but if something goes really wrong, then there might be bigger black holes produced. and what does nivek_ mean?, i cant understand a thing

If Solaris is right about stars needed then we cannot make a black hole in the earth unless we shoved a massive star in there but then the earth won't exist anyway.
