It works for me, just tested it. Do you have NoScript or Kaspersky installed? Disable it!

- Does not integrate with Vista Security Centre
- Rundll32 Error

I know this may be a "stupid" question since the usual advice is to remove prior antivirus/firewall etc. software, but I was wondering if I can run this software and the McAfee Suite. I really like Iola's software particularly System Mechanic Pro Suite but wasn't able to pay updating fee so I installed McAfee for free. I have the activation key but would like a response please if its safe to use both. Thanks

Didn't System Mechanic Pro use Kaspersky antivirus?I don't mean to change the subject here.

LadyStephens,
I have yet to try Iolo IS, but you shouldn't be running McAfee period =P. I suggest you get Avira 9 Free and PC Tools firewall (my personal favorite but there are viable other options) instead of McAfee (both Avira and PC Tools are free). I am not sure what else McAfee suite has but if you tell me I am sure there are better free alternatives out there.

I'd advise you NOT to use iolo System Shield 3 Internet Security as it is NOT compatible with VISTA 32-Bit SP1 but on their site it says it is.
The following problems you will get:
- Rundll32 Error on Login
- Security Centre Error Everytime Rundll32 Error
- iolo does NOT integrate with Vista Security Centre
If i were you:
Try Avira 9 FREE and Comodo Firewall or PC Tools Firewall

Does the iolo download manager give a choice to download the installation package for offline install ?
If not does anyone know where I can download the full 30MB setup.exe without going through the download manager?
If you are using Kaspersky and can't access the site you can add it to the white list in the Banner Ad Blocker. This way you won't have to pause protection.Last edited by LittleM; 03-25-2009 at 03:10 PM. Reason: added question

Yes, I agree. Both my husband & I dislike McAfee. Besides the usual firewall/antivirus, it has a Network Manager; disk defrag; back up & restore files; and quick clean. My OS is Windows XP Media Center Edition. I also use Advanced System Care & sometimes WinUtilities. I also use Titan Backup software- not McAfee.
I really like Iolo System Mechanic am looking for something on this level: Tune's the PC automatically and/or manually; Configure the software to work the way I want it to; Optimizes registry; Keeps the hard drive clean and error-free; Boost PC and internet performance; Improve Windows startup, internet connection speed, and download times;protects the system via firewall/antivirus/spyware; and automatically/manually repair Windows security flaws.
I really liked Sys. Mechanic's set up; it was relatively easy to use; and comprehensive. I'd gladly take suggestions as I really want to rid myself of McAfee.
