Freeware Files - Open source and freewares only

In here, I think we should put all the freeware, whither updated or not, so long as it's not a game.

    For example:

    Avira Free
    Avast Free
    OA Free
    OpenOffice.org

    etc

I just think it would be cleaner then having it all thrown into the General Freebies.
Just don't put your thanks in here, just post the software, perhaps a bit of a review, but kinda like the GAOTD thread, just meant to be a link place for non-giveaways.

    Hi,
I agree totally with this ''Sticky'' .
It is more convenient than to move them in the ''General Forum''
    Best regards !

PS. ''Freebies!'' = Post about free stuff, giveaways, offers, promotions and hot deals here.

So, if i'm understanding it correctly, all Freewares, Open-source softwares (Not Giveaways) should be posted here

Exactly. Open source and freewares are a go, giveaways are not. That's for the main Freebies section.

Thanks, so now the title could be edited to say "Open source and freewares only".

    Hi Hellnoire
recently I am thinking about this but I see that you create this.
Thank you for create this thread. It really help our to find good freeware software.
But instate of a sticky thread why you do not create a subforum of Freeware like Personal Giveways. I think it is more better solution.

Spin Drag'n'Crypt ULTRA 2.3.2 - free, small and portable encryption utility

    Hi everybody,

I just knew right now through this source (Thanks, Bill!) about a free application that can be useful: Drag'n'Crypt ULTRA 2.3.2. It is an encryption program, small in file size (200KB) and portable.

«The “cool factor” to this program is that when you launch the program, a small target (or drop zone) appears on your desktop (see below).
To encrypt a file (or folder), you simply drag the file (or folder) to the target (or drop zone) and drop it. Drag ‘n Crypt Ultra will go to work automatically, prompt you for a password, and then create the encrypted file. As an added level of security, the source file is erased to prevent someone from restoring the file using data recovery software (which is especially easy on a flash drive).
To decrypt the file you simply drag the file you originally encrypted to the target (or drop zone), enter your password, and the file will be restored to its’ original condition».
You can read the full review here, at the source.

    Features:

    - Data completely encode and/or decode simply via dragee & drop .
    - Encode and/or decode via context menu entry.
    - All kinds of files can be coded.
    - Particularly safe deletion of the source file after the coding procedure.
    - Twofish coding algorithm is used.
    - Is not necessary an installation of DCU.
    - DCU can be used from a mobile data medium (e.g. USB stick).

Hope this can be useful to someone.
