    Hi guys,
I have found this forum (more likely by accident). First I'd like to thank you for using our USB/U3 Antivirus.
I hope I can explain some problems mentioned here:

    promo itself
    • the promo started at the end of July, the information was shown to users of our trial version; the promo page is non-public - i.e. not directly linked on our site
    • version 2009 was most current at that time, the licence was set-up to expire on March 1st (which makes more than 7 month from start of the promo - plus one trial month with full functionality)
    • in September we released new version 2010 and stopped showing the promo link; we decided to let the system continue in promo, unfortunately - while placing new version to our web side we forgot to change the link in information mail and to add the version number to the text of promo - so the link points to most current version while system generates serial numbers valid for version 2009

    2009 vs. 2010
    • appart from changing the scanning engine from Norman to AVG in version 2010 TrustPort USB/U3 Antivirus also contains two brand new modules - Data Shredder and Archive Encryption (described here)
    • serial numbers activate individual modules of TrustPort products; as the SN in promo is created for version 2009, it cannot switch the additional modules to full icence
    • there is only one scanning engine in USB/U3 version of TrustPort Antivirus - one of the reasons is that we need about 50 - 70 megabytes for each engine and its virus signature database and you most probably want to store some data on the USB drive, not only our software :-)

So, if you want to use the TrustPort USB/U3 AV promo licence, please download the 2009 version from our web manually here and use the SN sent to you by our licence system. Link will be fixed during this Friday. We will let the promo continue "by itself" under current conditions. In the meantime we will of course prepare new promos, registered users of TP USB AV will be informed.
(Our guys will update the licence for those who contacted technical support before this problem was found (as "noaccount" mentions), but this must be done manually, so please use the version 2009 as mentioned above.)

And additional note: you can create the USB/U3 installation from running desktop version of TrustPort Antivirus or TrustPort PC Security (switch TrustPort Control to advanced view, press "Advanced..." button under "On demand scan" settings than "Create TrustPort USB", insert USB drive to slot when asked - DONE); this generated version is identical to downloaded one and uses automatically same licence as the desktop version (trial or full - but this is of course useful just for generating fully licences USB AV from licences desktop installation).

Sorry for this complication, I hope that you will be happy using our products. Also sorry for quite long explanation...

    Vladislav Nemec, TrustPort

Thank you very much for the heads up, Vladislav. It's not every day we get the clear answers from the creators of the said program!

Please go back and read the post from the author: post #41 in this thread (first post on page 5). He carefully explained the problem/solution. It was very gracious on his part to visit our site, and explain.
