FYI, Uniblue is a "Microsoft Gold Certified Partner". You can very well trust their products. With a little knowledge arond registry You will not have any problem using these products. I have been using the products like Registry Booster and Glary Utilities Pro for many years. They are perfectly alright to use. Regarding CCCleaner, I have no comments since I have never used it. Is it open source?

key words here are With a little knowledge around registry

CCleaner is free, and very safe. Put it on every system I work on, since my users usually do not understand the registry (and indeed, have no interest in learning about it), so if they are provided with a more powerful registry cleaner are very apt to mess things up royally, by 'fixing' everything in sight.

CCleaner can be relied on to fix only the things that are safe to fix - leaves the others alone.

As well, can be run from a flash drive, portable, gotta like that!!

info and download can be found here

Hey Granny, Thanks for the info any.

Any products related to registry, whether it is free or commercial you need to have some knowledge before putting hands into it.

The best way is to have a restore point before proceeding.

    Am I right?

hideipuser - normally I would say you are right but..

    not so in this case...

I have never seen CCleaner mess up any system (and that's saying a lot, since some of my user's seem capable of causing destruction with any utility)

It seems designed for just such users, focuses on simplicity, yet very effective. Backs up changes, for safety.

Really, check it out - has several additional nice features, is simple to run, cleans up temporary files, and just works very well for inexperienced users, and has features for quick cleanups by those more knowledgeable.

Effective and safe on all versions of Windows up to and including Windows 7, have used it for years with no problems.

Other than CCleaner, I tell every user 'don't mess with the registry', so in that sense you are correct. The registry is not for the faint of heart (or careless users).

Try it and let me know what you think...

Though the products what I use are alright for me(because of the features, simplicity and support provided by them), with what is being said by you all I am very eager to lay my hands on CCleaner. Thanks for your suggestions. I will come back to you once I test this in my system.
