Freebies Section RULES!!! - Read this before posting!

Freebies Section Rules & Guidelines/Requests

This set of rules is special for this Freebies section in addition to the RULES that's stated for the entire forum.

What's allowed:

1. The Freebies section (main index) should only have threads for:

a) Genuine freebies where everyone can get a license on their own....such as those that require email sign-up etc. and those that provide 'universal'/'common' license key for all

b) Freebies from other sites that gives away license key(s) is allowed.

c) Freebies/Promotions MUST be accompanied with working download links. If there is no link to working installers/setup files for the software, it is forbidden to post about the promotion as the promotion is considered as invalid.

d) If you are sharing a promotion where there is an installer but only with a specific working program language (apart from English), be sure to specify the working program language (e.g. Italian) in the thread title.

2. Some freebies should be posted under certain places (sticky/sub-forum) instead of the main index

a) Post all GiveAwayOfTheDay freebies here: Giveawayoftheday freebies all go here

b) Post all games freebies (be it for Game Giveawayoftheday, SandlotGames or any other games) here: All game freebies (inc. Game GOTD & Sandlot Games) goes here

c) Post all freeware, open-source software here: Freeware Files -Open source and freewares only

d) Post all request for SIGN-UP INVITES ONLY (e.g. Demonoid, Google Wave, etc) here: Request and/or Giveaway Invites here

(Do not abuse the system by requesting/trading keys...it's against the rules of the forum)

What's not allowed:

1. Do not re-post a promotion that has been shared here before. Please do a search before posting a new thread to ascertain that the same offer has not been posted already.

Exceptions:

2) You are offering individual license keys or accounts.
b) You are posting an update for a promotion for a software that has been shared here before. Make sure it is 6 months since that last promo was shared and indicate in the thread title the new version no. for that software.

2. No requesting for keys or cracks/keygen

3. NO trading of keys/software.

Reason: there is a chance that some of these keys are illegal (pirated keys generated from a keygen) or the key is blacklisted or the key simply doesn't work (you were fooled into trading your legal key for nothing)

Exception: NONE AT ALL...if you want to trade keys, go elsewhere

4. Please DO NOT bump old threads with useless information (.e.g only a reply of "thanks")

5. NEVER EVER start a flaming war with another member over something that both of you disagree with. Resolve your conflicts by talking to one another in a calm, professional manner and NEVER EVER make unfounded accusations. If the topic/disagreement is serious, you may choose to Private Message (PM) each other & resolve the conflict on your own

For the sake of our member's security, please follow these instructions:

a) Do NOT post ''tiny URLs". Instead post the original URL so that we can check them with WOT and McAfee SiteAdvisor.

b.) Do NOT provide direct download link from untrusted sources ( like Megaupload, Mediafire and other free P2P hosts)

Exception: You have asked Raymond or moderators for permission to be allowed to do so.

c.) Do NOT post about Promotions/Giveaways that take place on sites/blogs rated as unsafe ( red ) by WOT .

d.) Do NOT post about Promotions / Giveaways regarding a software whose homepage is rated as unsafe ( red ) by WOT .

GUIDELINES/REQUESTS ONLY:

1. We encourage you not to participate in giveaways for fun...I know it's part of human nature to want free stuffs but let us please be considerate and let those keys go to those who are in need of them instead of wasting them.

For example, if you already have an anti-virus program installed on your PC, you would definitely not need another license key for a different anti-virus unless it's for a friend/family member. Please be considerate & let others have that valuable license key as we all know that some AV has a shelf-life to it (the key can expire within a period of time)...

2. For "in-house" giveaways (conducted by our members):

To those members conducting the giveaway:

We encourage you to ask participants to input valuable comments and explanation on why they need the license key for the software.

However, if you wish to give away your keys without forcing participants to input comments, then it's fine with the moderators.

To participants in these giveaways

We encourage you to to include a little brief explanation on the reason why you need the license key.

However, if the giveaway holder has specifically allowed no need for valuable comments, then it is not obligatory for you to do...it's fine with the moderators
