Computer Unable To Boot Up Occurs Every Few Days
I have recently started to experience that my computer starts to unable to start up and goes into startup repair. This have occured at least 3 times in the past week and i'm not exactly sure what exactly went wrong. The only programe which i have installed before the "thing" happened was O&O defrag professional which i just stopped a defrag before it finish.
After which, when i reboot, it started the system unable to boot up. Hence, the restore point used was the day used to installed the O&O programe. After which, i thought that even though it was uninstalled, i would be safe from problems. But then it keep repeating,
Therefore, i am confused right now whether the programe is causing my computer unable to boot up or could it be due to other sources.
If anyone has anyone solutions for my problem. Please help me. Thank you

Backup asap, and reformat/reinstall.... It will take you a few hours of straight forward work, or you can sit down and wonder and lose even more of your precious time second guessing....
Good luck

Check the disk for error. Maybe the files were being moved when you stopped the defrag process.
Run chkdsk and fix the errors if any. Then run the built in defrag of windows. You should be fine.

Sounds like you shut down while d-frag was moving some system/boot files, and now the system cannot find them, or they are corrupted and/or scattered everywhere of no 'place-mat'. A de-frag is one program you should never start unless you are willing to WAIT until it finishes. Your (lack of) patience has probably cost you a reformat job. Who knows what pieces are now scattered around your HD with no road map or address book.

I'm assuming that Defrag applications sequentially defragment files (one at a time), so if for some reason a defrag task was interrupted, then only one file (consisting of multiple fragments which were in the process of being merged) should be affected (if at all).
I would also assume that defrag applications work safely, by creating the merged destination file, before deleting the original fragments.
If that's the case, and the destination file already exists, then it only takes a split second to remove references to the old fragments from the file table, and add a new entry to the new destination(s), as defragging may not always result into a single file (just reduced fragments depending on available disk space, yet another assumption of mine).

Before it occured, i have 31 GB of free space. After installing O&O defrag, and doing its analysis. Suddenly i have 50 GB of free space. Thats when the problems starts to occur. But after doing norton disk optimization for 8 hrs yesterday, i returned to my original free space of 31 GB, but i'm not sure whether this is the exact free space left as hard drive is actually 140 GB total. For now, i am wondering what is the reason due to the 20 GB difference between both times.

alright the problem is coming back again and i don't think it is the defragment problem. Can anyone kindly guide me steps to troubleshoot it?

I suggest that you repair your Windows and see if the problem occours than you might need a pro help on this. Be sure to scan your PC with some of the best Anti softwares for some Viruses and spywares. I think that your startup must be too busy and there may be many unwanted services running.
Post your HijackThis Log here and some would definitly help you.My right to post information is protected under the constitutional rights for freedom.

I'm not really very sure i did a full norton 360 scan which consists of the defrag too. After which i did the malwarebytes full scan. But still the problem starts and its like maybe once every 2 or 3 days. System restore back stills does not help it. Any other ways to see whats the problem.
The start up repair to system restore it takes a long time to finish too so i don't think it could be the power source.
